I think we did it y'all! Guinness Book of World Record Attempt! Most nails hammered simultaneously! Maryland Building Industry Association - BuilderMart 2026! If you didn't make it this year, put it on your calendar for next year. It was an awesome event! As an interior designer, I show up to meet new builders and vendors who partner together to create new homes and living spaces for our community! It's a team effort! #marylandbuildingindustryassociation #marylandinteriordesigner by @designerdestini

As we wrap up Professional Women in Building Week, I want to share a bit of my why... Anyone who knows me knows that my daughters bring so much joy and so much purpose to my life. Before I enter any construction site, I'm a mother first. And it's my duty to show my daughters every day what is possible when they realize their talents and show up in places that allow their talents to shine. As a homeschooling mom, I appreciate the fact that I am able to bring my daughters along this entrepreneural journey with me. They are witnessing first hand the value of courage and perseverance! They are witnessing a woman... their mother...believe in herself and go after her dreams, while keeping them by her side! It's not easy at all...but they are worth it. That to me is legacy. And shout out to all the people who make them feel welcome whenever and wherever they show up... #NAHBWomenInBuilding #marylandbuilders #marylandinteriordesigner #mompreneur # by @designerdestini
Just the two of us... Not exactly! 😊 There are very few things in life that we can accomplish alone...and building a home is definitely not one of them. Collaboration is key! Meet Kenny Deckleman, the Construction Site Supervisor for the Raise the Roof project! Working alongside Kenny has been such a great experience. He has brought his passion and talent from his work with Habitat for Humanity to this project; and as we work through many of the interior construction design details together, he is providing me with new knowledge and insights along the way. This partnership and collaboration is making me an even better designer, because learning about what's behind the walls, is just as important as creating the beauty that we all see and desire. So as we celebrate Professional Women in Building Week, let's give it up for men like Kenny that welcome women like me into the "man's world" of construction, because they realize women bring value, knowledge and skills that help get the job done! #NAHBWomenInBuilding #PWBProud #marylandbuilders #habitatforhumanity #marylandinteriordesigner by @designerdestini
📣It's Professional Women in Building Week, and though I haven't posted in a while... I thought this is the perfect time to share that I started a very special project in June in partnership with The Arc of Carroll County, Home Builders Care Foundation and Habitat for Humanity. The Arc loves and serves people with intellectual and developmental disabilities... and now I love the fact that for the last few months I have have been helping them Raise the Roof through building two accessible homes from the ground up! This is a first for this organization, and I'm so thankful that God placed me in their paths to support their work with my interior design services. And I'm not talking pillows and drapery...I'm talking about elevations and specifications for construction... The hard stuff. The things people often don't associate with interior design, but that's what we do! I'll share more about this project and our construction design work this week. Life has been full and HIS TIMING is always PERFECT! #NAHBPWBWeek #NAHBWomenInBuilding #NAHBWomenInBuildingWeek #PWBProud #homebuilderscaremaryland by @designerdestini

"You are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid. Neither do men light a candle and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick, and it giveth light unto all that are in the house. Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in Heaven." Matthew 5:14-16 That's all folks. #dailyinspiration #becoming #lightwithin #murals #alexandria by @designerdestini
"I have shown you in every way, by laboring like this, that you must support the weak. And remember the words of the Lord Jesus, that He said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive." Acts 20:35 Tuesday night, my neighbor and I had a nice dinner at a restaurant at the National Harbor. On Thursday, I helped serve a nice dinner to others @carpenters_shelter with the lovely ladies of @alexandriawomenforgood I can't say which time I enjoyed more, but I can bet on which one the Lord was more pleased with. 😊 by @designerdestini
