As we relaunch Designing for Diversity, we are opening applications for our Milka’s Montessori Box 🤍

If your child has unique learning needs, you feel they could benefit from more individualized support, or you are hoping to incorporate more Montessori materials into your child’s home learning environment, this program was created for you.

This initiative was inspired by my sister and the way she learns best through repetition, hands on exploration, and materials tailored for her pace (second slide). A reminder that many children don’t struggle because they cannot learn, but because the environment was not designed for them.

After you submit the application, a member of our team will connect with you to learn about your child’s strengths, challenges, and goals. We will then thoughtfully design a Montessori learning box with hands on Montessori materials tailored specifically to their developmental needs, and continue to stay in touch to support progress along the way.

As we continue raising funds, priority will be given to families with the greatest need so we can serve children who may not otherwise have access to these resources.

✨Although this new month has already begun, I cannot move forward without expressing my heartfelt thank you to The Down Syndrome association of northern Virginia @dsanv_ for having us at their annual Buddy Walk 2025.💙💛

This year’s theme, “Assume I Can,” aligned perfectly with how Tsiona often says, “I got this!!” with so much confidence. And if she believes in her, who am I, or anyone, to question it?

So I’m choosing just that …
to assume she can.
To believe in her abilities.
To refuse to limit her potential.
To celebrate her gifts and the light she brings into this world.

To every parent, sibling, teacher, and guardian walking this journey with me:
Choose to assume they can.
Choose to see their brilliance.
Choose to speak up for them , loudly and proudly.

As I close out my 2024 reign, I want to say thank you to my beautiful community 🇪🇷 for standing by me through it all. It has been an honor to serve and represent you. My heart is full, and it goes out to each and every one of you. I look forward to the greatness ahead as we step into a new chapter 🤍.

End of August is becoming the birth of new and amazing beginnings. 27th August, The birth of @designing4diversity foundation is one day before my @paulins_cruz birthday and 2 days before my Moma’s birthday in Heaven. As usual it took me a while to post, because I feel so much gratitude for all of you that showed up to support this cause and didn’t know where to start or how to express it.
