That one time I got laid off, took a sabbatical and ran away from New York just in time for cuffing season(tryouts). I somehow(read delulu) thought I was this real estate guru who could live off my properties and therefore needed no income from a steady w2. Early retirement, is that you? I packed my things up and moved to Mexico, only to return to fetch Levi once I was settled. Honestly, I had no plan and I didn’t really care. I mean I cared but not too seriously because I was clearly spending money like I bought bitcoin in 10’ and cashed out in 2020. I was clearly playing Dare. Truth is, after my first week, I started to miss “home”. I wasn’t sure where or what that was but I was unsettled aka I was unsuccessful in becoming a FT Sugarbaby. For the past year and a half, I had been traveling, living out of hotels, my house while under construction(full year) and as a roommate in my own apartment. Truth is, a simple congratulations text and New York called me home with a new job doing what I love. taken in Mexico by @designwith.elle

Talking to the youth about design is always a hard YES! They are so honest and ask the best questions that really make you think deeply about what we do and WHY we do it. Great time with an amazing panel of women in the built environment in the NYC area. I really haven’t had the opportunity to do this in person for a couple of years. This summer I tried my best to stay in NYC and enjoy all it has to offer. I drove my car back mostly so I could drive to the beach. I picnicked in the park and even held hands with a boy…very Brooklyn summer, very meet cute, very dead. Now, while I am not one to say bye to summer pre autumn equinox, this bite in the air has me feeling a way. And by way, I mean flying out for warmer climates because guess who has zero plans of spending winter in NYC? 🙋🏾‍♀️. Where are all my remote workers? How are y’all managing the winter months? Where are we going? BTW, I absolutely love Fall, it’s all about the layers and leaves changing. by @designwith.elle

First dinner party for the books, Friendsgivingish style. I manifested hosting at my house while I was still in Mexico. I told everyone I’m cooking and hosting, bring yourself if you’re in town. I had no clue whether I would have been able to flip my house in time but I was determined. I may or may not be the hostess doing the mostess but honestly at my big age, this is me and I own it. From turning the sofa into a banquet and getting a new dining table on loan, the friends came through. This gathering really solidified my move back and new chapter. I also really just needed an excuse to cook and have the people I love to meet. I was filled with so much love. I’m thinking a dinner and game night next? June, I love you. This year around the sun has been about love, mastering and growth. It was probably one of the most uncomfortable years but the harvest and growth has been in abundance. It was also a year where I exercised asking for help. I’m so grateful to my tribe. I believe your friends are truly a reflection of self. I have some of the best friends life could bring. 🥂 to thirty+ and yes, we celebrate all ♋️ season! #imoutside by @designwith.elle
