Today would have been Queen Elizabeth II’s 100th birthday. Whatever your politics, it’s hard to ignore the scale of her commitment: decades of consistency, duty, restraint and service through changing governments, cultural shifts, global crises and personal pressure. And that’s exactly why her life is worth studying. Not as a history lesson… but as a leadership lesson.

If you could ask Muhammad Ali anything… what would it be? 🥊

DESIRE (The Fire): "What did you want so badly that you were willing to be misunderstood for it?"

DREAM (Belief Before Proof): "When did you first know you were 'The Greatest'… before the world agreed?"

VISION (Strategy + Standards): "How did you build a plan to beat opponents everyone said you couldn't beat?"

EXECUTION (Doing It Under Pressure): "How did you keep showing up in training, in the ring, and in life when the cost was pain, criticism, and consequence?"

Ali would tell you his desire wasn't just to win fights — it was to own his identity, his voice, and his destiny… even when it made him unpopular. The dream came early: he spoke it out loud before it was "safe" to say, using belief as a weapon. His vision was never random confidence; it was standards and strategy: obsessive training, studying opponents, being willing to fight smart. And execution? That's where Ali separated himself: he took pressure, fear, pain, politics, and public judgment… and still acted.

The real fight is staying disciplined when it stops being fun. Courage isn't a quote… it's what you do when you're tired, doubted, and it would be easier to quit.

If you could ask King George VI anything… what would it be? 🎙️👑

Here are the questions I’d ask:
DESIRE (Stepping Into Duty): “You weren’t born to be king. How did you accept that crown?"
DREAM (Vision Beyond Yourself): “How did you find clarity when everything was uncertain in the late 1930's?
VISION (Building in Crisis): “How did you lead and keep your people together when the outcome was so uncertain in WW2?”
EXECUTION (Overcoming What Limits You): “You worked with a speech therapist to overcome your stammer. How hard was it to stand before the microphone to address the nation and announce we were at war?”

What I think history tells us he’d say:
George VI would probably tell you he accepted the crown the same way many people accept an unwanted responsibility… not with confidence, but with duty. After his brother Edward VIII abdicated, he didn’t step forward because he wanted the spotlight, he stepped forward because the country needed steadiness and his biggest fear wasn’t just failure… it was letting people down when they were already scared with another World War on the horizon.

In the uncertainty, he found clarity by anchoring to service and leaning on those around him especially Queen Elizabeth (the Queen Mother), Winston Churchill, his Private Secretary Sir Alan "Tommy" Lascelles and the quiet, relentless support of his speech therapist Lionel Logue.

In wartime leadership, he didn’t pretend to know the outcome, he focused on presence: staying in London during the Blitz, showing up, visiting the bombed areas and becoming a symbol of endurance when words weren’t enough.

And that microphone moment? History suggests it was far from comfortable because it forced him to face his stammer in the most public way possible, but he did it. Slowly, deliberately, with preparation and courage.
