This Memphis-style lamp will brighten up any room, regardless of whether its on or not...

The Memphis Group came to prominence in the early 1980s and were best-known for their postmodern approach to everything from furniture to fabric. Despite what the name may suggest, the Memphis Group were based in Milan, the name taking inspiration from Bob Dylan's record "Stuck Inside of Mobile with the Memphis Blues Again".

Their work has been described as a shotgun wedding between Bauhaus and Fisher-Price – we can think of no greater accolade!

After working on a big project at the beginning of the year, I felt burnt out and needed to take a break from drawing. I decided to make some earrings and it’s so nice to have another creative outlet. Still playing around with shapes and colours but may sell these in the shop soon!

I have some fantastic news! I’m pleased to reveal my collaboration with @weareprintsocial which will be raising money for the @nationalautisticsociety during #autismawarenessmonth

As it’s basically summer now, you should treat yourself to a short sleeve, or like me, if you live in Scotland, a long sleeve will do you all year round…

Here’s why I chose this design:

“My people design is based on social cues, particularly how individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) often have difficulty recognising and understanding them and therefore do not instinctively learn to adjust their behaviour to suit different social contexts.

I've chosen the National Autistic Society as it is a charity close to my heart. It helps those on the ASD spectrum and their families get the support they need, including campaigning for improved rights, training companies on being more autism-friendly and running specialist schools.”
