POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

27 humbled me and taught me so much about myself. I had to confront my pride. Make mistakes. Acknowledge that I'm my worst critic. Ask myself "what do you want?" and find peace in considering a different answer. And so much more...Grateful for the lessons I would've been too stubborn to notice had they arrived sooner...God has been more than good even while I struggled to believe He still cared.

28 of em twin. With you through it all @devaughnmcdonald 🙏🏽 one step at a time. Appreciate all the birthday wishes! by @desmondpowell_

FRIDAY

I don't think these songs would've seen the light of day if @devaughnmcdonald didn't wake me up. "What's stopping you from putting these out?" The issue was that I was creatively drained and struggled with comparison so if I didn't sound exactly like my favorite emcees, I got down on myself and figured it wasn't worth putting out. How prideful of me smh...

But in hindsight, I'm glad God spoke to me through my bro. It pushed me to do something I didn't think I could do. I'm so proud of myself. I never thought I could really write a song. I never thought I could ever come up with any meaningful concepts. I didn't think I had a story worth telling (yet at least). It's why I never thought I had it in me to release music.

Shoutout to the people who saw this in me LONG before I did and who helped me along the way. This is NOT merely music about basketball. I can't wait for you to listen and hear how it's much more than that. No matter who you are, if you can find yourself in this project at any point, that'll mean more to me than anything. The Gym opens soon... by @desmondpowell_
