A few shots from the installation 'Inherited', as part of the recent group show 'Specular Drift', at @live__wire__, very creatively curated by Mikaella Socratous @studio.squirmy. Photo credits: @ioannaeconomidou About the artwork: The installation 'Inherited' comprises a selection of small-scale sculptural artworks, which derive from an exploration of themes of land heritage, and the rituals associated with it. They are mainly based on cadastral plans, feeding from shapes, forms and structures that relate to places and pieces of land with which the artist relates personally. Materiality is an important component of this body of work as it uses predominantly the labour-intensive process of the craft of ceramics. The choice of material reflects ideas of heritage through cultural memory and tradition-based experiences. 'Inherited', 2025-26 Ceramics, white cement Dimensions variable by @despinap.art

'Zero Value', work in progress Embroidery . . . Traditional Cypriot crafts have always held a special place in my heart and daily life. As they quietly find their way into my art practice, they make the creative process even more meaningful. Five years after attending summer lessons in the village of Athienou, where I learned to craft traditional lace, the labour-intensive and repetitive nature of embroidery has become embedded in my artistic processโ€”now taking form as a map. by @despinap.art

Join us as we are opening up our shared studio space: studio studio. A few months ago, the four of us came together to shape this space into somewhere we can explore, grow, and share ideas with each other. Now, weโ€™re looking forward to sharing a bit of that with you too. Come say hi on the 10th October at 18:00, see what weโ€™ve been working on and join the conversation. Youโ€™ll find us on Kosta Chatzopoulou Street in Nicosia (weโ€™ll share the exact location closer to the date.) Weโ€™d be happy to see you there โšก๏ธ by @despinap.art
'Passed Down' (wip) . . . 'The sculptural installation โ€˜Passed Downโ€™ presents the landscape as an active ledger of memory, boundaries and negotiation posing questions around the ritual of land heritage in Cyprus, and the demarcation of land in the process. Land inheritance in Cypriot culture functions as a rite of passage: a moment when topography is recited like genealogy and value is measured in both emotion and market price.' by @despinap.art
'Washed away' ...is a new series of work, currently in progress, that delves into the transformations that pieces of land undergo as they are passed down through generations. By sumerging the clay clabs in seawater, I engage with the natural process of erosion and reshaping, creating an ongoing dialogue between human presence and nature. by @despinap.art

Attempts - - to familiarize myself with clay and its techniques, while finding/creating connections between the craft and my practice. Special thanks to @homa_ke_nero_pottery for making the introduction ๐Ÿ’ซ by @despinap.art
Attempts - - I have done in the past few months to get back on track with my art practice, while navigating alternative ways to produce work without an actual studio space. Attempts to embrace these limitations and eventually make them part of my work as a way of moving forward ๐Ÿ’ซ by @despinap.art
