Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7Anxiety had a hold on me. Depression had a hold on me. Bipolar disorder had a hold on me. But God is so much bigger than any diagnosis that I will ever receive. I am walking in light, feeling like myself again but more importantly, feeling like a daughter of God. This year I contemplated whether to get back on medicine and though I still do, I know that I can go to God for any and everything and He will heal whatever is broken, fragmented and sick. I don’t say this lightly when I tell you that God is ever changing in my life and not just for me but everyone around me. I speak my truth to encourage the next but also to show you even when I show up like nothing has happened, God is working on me from the inside out. I love you 😘 by @dessamyre

First quarter dumpiana! Man, is it hard to move along with the year when you’ve been stuck in auto pilot for so long! I’m learning that I have to stop thinking, stop talking and start doing. I’m also learning how to perfect a twist out lol (p.s. shoutout to the curls, wearing my fro makes me feel so free). The biggest lesson these past few months taught me is that you cannot bring old patterns and habits into a new season. You have to let dead weight go. It’s a choice to separate yourself away from the things that no longer serve you but also to choose the things that will pour into you and add to your life.At the beginning of my year, I wanted to put God at the center of my life. Through bible study, going to church, praying, worshipping, reading Christian based books and being surrounded by His people, I can see Him surrounding me-that type of peace is priceless. There’s no way I could do life without God. He has taken my mind and heart out of a heavy place and I am thankful for new perspective. He makes all things beautiful in His time. by @dessamyre
