As part of Selector Radio’s special episode celebrating Cuba and other parts of Latin America, we’ve invited London’s @destafrench to curate this week’s After Dark mix. She is a Colombian-Italian artist, DJ and songwriter, born and raised in London whose broad range of influences span from RnB, salsa, cumbia, Latin jazz, hip-hop, lo-fi, grime, and Latin pop music Desta plays tracks by Orquesta Cimarrón, @juanita_euka, @elianecorreamusic, @karenylosremedios, and Bobby Matos & his Afro-Cuban Jazz Ensemble. She plays tracks by both UK and international artists, and you can find some of the freshest UK Latina artists at her ongoing club night ‘Latinas of London’ at @thejazzcafe 🎧 Listen at @selectoruk link in bio #SelectorRadio #AfterDark #DestaFrench #LatinasOfLondon #Salsa #Cumbia #Jazz #LatinJazz #LatinPop #Colombia #Cuba #CubanMusic #LinkInBio Press shot of Desta French in a dark room wearing an orange dress with a beaded veil over her head and her arms artistically raised as if dancing.
