I often get asked why I travel so much all the time. I guess it is because I realize that tomorrow is never guaranteed.

Last December, I was in Bondi Beach when a terrorist attack happened. And moments like that make you realise how unpredictable life really is.

So I keep travelling. Keep exploring. Keep saying yes.
Because the memories we make are the one thing we get to keep. 🌍 taken in Bondi Beach by @destinationroamer

Thinking about a weekend trip to Poland? 🇵🇱

I visited Poznań AND Wrocław, as I couldn't decide on which one to pick. I have been to about 10 different cities in Poland but both of these were new destinations for me. @ryanair service both cities with cheap flights. My flights were about €35 roundtrip. And the train ride between these two cities is about an hour and a half and costs about €8.

Sooo... which one did I like more? Poznań or Wrocław?

Poznań vs. Wrocław
🍴 Best food: Poznań — slight edge
🍻 Best bars: Poznań — slight edge
👥 Less touristy: Poznań — by far
📸 Most Instagrammable: Tie
🛏️ Best hostel: Wrocław — by far
💰 Cheaper: Poznań — slightly
🏛️ More beautiful: Tie

So I guess Poznań won this one, even though I really liked both cities! by @destinationroamer

Today is my birthday! ☀️🔄🌍

Whenever I feel down or wonder if I’ll ever reach my goals, I remind myself of one thing: the 20-year-old version of me would be pretty damn impressed by the life I’ve built today. ❤️

You may of course comment "happy birthday" but I'd much more appreciate if you let me know which 3 photos were your favorites. 🎉 taken in Khiva, Uzbekistan by @destinationroamer

Everyone asks me about my recent trip to 7 countries in Africa: "how much was it??"

Considering all the fine dining in upscale 5 star hotels and luxurary resorts... you'd be surpriced to see my cost breakdown!

🗺 My route was: Stockholm - Johannesburg - Victoria Falls - Livingstone - Kasane - Chobe NP - Windhoek - Soussusvlei - Swakopmund - Walvis Bay - Spitzkoppe - Windhoek - Johannesburg - Maputo - Johannesburg - Addis Abeba - Stockholm

✈️ All flights: $775
Stockholm to Johannesburg round trip with Ethiopian Airlines was $550. Joburg to Vic Falls was $75 one way. And Windhoek to Joburg was $150. Expensive short haul flights in Africa. 😒 The long haul flight was worth every penny!

🛂 Visa fees: $145
Zimbabwe was $35 (Visa on Arrival). Namibia was $100 (VOA). And Mozambique was about $10 (VOA). Ethiopian airlines sponsored my transit visa in Ethiopia so it was FREE. The other countries were Visa Free for EU passport holders.

🏨 Accomodation: ~$600 (average $30 for 20 nights)
I stayed in hostels and cheap guesthouses (regardsless of visiting 5 star hotels in most locations).

🎟️ National parks & entry fees: $100
Vic Falls: $58 (Zimbabwe side) + $20 (Zambia side) + ~$20 (Soussusvlei)

🍴 Food & beverage: ~ $600? I think my average was about $30 per day. Food and drinks were cheap but I went to upscale restaurants and 5 star hotels quite a bit...

🐘 Safari: 2 safaris in Chobe NP × $30 = $60
The third safari was free of charge because our safari boat broke down 😂

🚗 Car rental + fuel = ~550 (the SUV rental incl insurance was slightly less than $400 and gas around $150).
A 4x4 jeep is NOT necessary for my route, but I'd consider it if you are 2 or more people travelling together. (It was too expensive for me as a solo traveller)

🚌 Long haul buses: $125
Kasane-Windhoek was 22 hours and cost $60 (but possible to go cheaper if you book in advance. Joburg-Maputo round trip is about $65 if you book in advance.

🚖 Taxi trips: ~$100 (I took around 50 taxi trips and the average ride cost $2). I also hitchhiked a bit...

🔥 In total: ~$3000 for everything (3 weeks/7 countries) taken in Africa by @destinationroamer

What I saw in Addis Ababa. 📸🔥

Addis completely surprised me. I’ve been here before, but after 7 years I barely recognized the city. The transformation in such a short time is incredible – perhaps only China and Dubai have undergone such a dramatic change. The current government seems to be doing a great job. 🇪🇹🙌🏼

And I have to give a huge shoutout to Ethiopian Airlines. ✈️ I found a return ticket from Stockholm to Johannesburg for just over $500 – which is already an amazing price. On my way home, I had a 17-hour layover in Addis, and the airline arranged my transit visa, a hotel including breakfast, lunch & dinner, and airport transfers – all free of charge. Even their economy passengers get the royal treatment. 👑✈️

Photo 1-3: Walking through one of the most surreal landscapes on Earth, where trees stopped growing but the beauty never did. 🧡🪾 Deadvlei feels like stepping onto another planet. Surrounded by towering red dunes, these camel thorn trees have stood frozen in time for centuries, creating one of the most surreal landscapes I’ve ever seen. 📸

Photo 4-6: 1 hour away from Deadvlei, near the Sesriem entrance gate of the Namib-Naukluft National Park and the camp were I spent the night, the landscapes look completely different. It was greener and there were so many gemsboks (oryx) running around all night making noise so it was hard to sleep. 😅 taken in Sesriem Camp, Sossusvlei, Namibia by @destinationroamer
