Hey there! 🙋🏼‍♀️ We thought it is finally time to introduce ourselves and give this account some personality! 💫

We are Michaela and Nico, a couple from Germany and in our mid/end twenties. We are both working 9-to-5 and try to travel as much as possible in the meantime. So far we did 13 countries together, I (Michaela) have travelled 21 so far and still counting😌 - tbh our list is so long, we constantly struggle on deciding where to go next. Can you relate?🌞

We love to share our travels and are currently working on our travel blog which tbh is not always easy with full time jobs📷

We loved our time in Nicaragua, but we definitely made a few mistakes that cost us time (and energy) — so here’s what you should know before planning your route:

🚍 Don’t underestimate distances. Bus rides take way longer than expected — e.g. Popoyo → Managua can easily take 4–5 hours

✈️ Book flights to the Corn Islands early. Because of a famous baseball game on the corn islands — all flights were gone, and we had to completely change our route (hello, endless bus rides 🙃)

📍 Most routes go through Managua. Be ready to backtrack more than you’d think when moving between places

🏙️ Granada wasn’t for us. You can consider it optional depending on your vibe

🏝️ Plan your stops based on your travel style. Many people stay longer on Ometepe, while El Transito or Popoyo are perfect if you’re into surfing or just want to slow down. We even skipped San Juan del Sur last minute because it didn’t fit our vibe

🌊 Big Corn vs. Little Corn. We actually preferred Big Corn — more relaxed and authentic. But if you’re into snorkeling, Little Corn is the real gem

Nicaragua is an incredible country — raw, authentic, and full of highlight. Just plan smart so you don’t lose days on the road like we did😮‍💨

wir haben eigentlich schon aufgeben & dann haben wir auf einmal einen Schatten gesehen! Aber Hand aufs Herz: mit Abstand die beste view hat man mit der Drohne.

Am Ufer stehen oft massenhaft Menschen vor den stingrays & das nimmt dem ganzen ein stückweit die Magie✨
