I have officially finished my Master of Social Work with a 3.9 GPA! 🎓🤍

First and always, thank you God. This journey came with long nights, little sleep, endless essays, long workdays, tears, joy, and sacrifices. There were days I felt tired and overwhelmed, but through it all, You carried me and gave me the strength to keep going.

Thank you to my friends, family, and close loved ones for standing beside me, understanding, listening, and giving me advice when I needed it most. A special shoutout to the classmate who spent many long nights on the phone with me and became a great friend along the way.

To my mom, thank you for every sacrifice you made and for always pushing me when it came to my education. Even when some doubted me, you made sure I knew what I was capable of. You taught me to work harder, keep going, and never let anyone else determine how far I could go.

To my Papaw, who is no longer here to see this moment, thank you for teaching me the importance of education, always advocating for me, and believing in me. Losing you unexpectedly made this journey harder, but I carried everything you taught me with me. I know you and Nana are so proud of me.

And lastly, thank you to me for not giving up.

I’m proud of the little Black girl from a small town who had big dreams, the young woman who kept going, and the woman I am becoming. I’m thankful for the Black women who came before me and showed me why representation matters, especially in social work.
