RESCUE UPDATE: Recently, when Juma, a 12-year-old boy, traveled several miles outside his village to sell goods at a local market, a man approached him and convinced him to leave his home for a job in another city.

A false promise of a job is a common tactic traffickers use to lure vulnerable victims into exploitation.

An informant became aware of the situation and alerted the police. Juma was successfully located within days and provided valuable information that led to the arrest of the man he had met in the market. by @destiny_rescue

For over two decades, we've worked tirelessly on behalf of suffering children. It seems appropriate that this year, we also crossed the groundbreaking milestone of rescuing 25,000 people from trafficking and exploitation!

But that growth hasn’t been linear. Read the latest on our website about our journey from when we started rescuing over 25,000 survivors. by @destiny_rescue

Kavita's dad died when she was young, leaving her to provide for her mother and younger sibling.

Without a trained skill or education, Kavita was left vulnerable to exploitation, and she began selling her body to provide for her family.

Not long after Kavita met our team, she bravely accepted our offer of a life of freedom, free from exploitation.

She is learning how to be a tailor, growing in confidence and living safely in our local survivor residential home. by @destiny_rescue

25 years. Over 25 thousand reasons to celebrate.

Destiny Rescue began when Tony Kirwan, an Australian tradesman, had a life-changing mission trip to Thailand. He was stunned by the sight of children being openly sold for sex on the street. He began to pray, “God help these children…” but the prayer didn’t finish the way he’d intended.

Instead, he prayed, “God help me if I don’t do something for these kids.”

Tony went back to Australia, sold his home, business and everything he owned and moved across the ocean to try to make a difference. What he lacked in preparation, he made up for with a total, unwavering commitment to help children.

Destiny Rescue had been born.

Since those humble beginnings, Destiny Rescue has transformed into a respected international counter-trafficking non-governmental organization (NGO) with ties to law enforcement agencies and communities worldwide. While we’ve developed far beyond our humble roots, that same commitment that drove Tony to abandon all he had for the sake of the children remains the driving force behind everything we do.

We’re not slowing down. Follow the link in our bio to rescue the next child today. by @destiny_rescue

In August, reports came in of a group of seven young girls walking on foot toward a major city in East Africa. With our support, a government counter-trafficking officer brought the vulnerable girls to district headquarters, where our team helped conduct interviews. The girls are receiving counseling, food and basic necessities in an emergency shelter while our team helps determine next steps. Investigations are ongoing to identify the traffickers and their network. by @destiny_rescue
