Last but certainly not least… I would like to give all praise to the most high. I wouldn’t have been able to finish this journey without him. I’m blessed and highly favored. I overcame every obstacle only due to the blessings of Allah SWT. My faith is bigger than any fear or doubt in my mind.

Tomorrow I will officially be a graduate of North Carolina Central University! Alhamdulillah! by @destinyhhines

As a First Generation college student, I had no blueprint to guide me. I relocated to a completely different state alone, establishing my own path. On December 12th, I will be the first person with a Bachelor’s Degree. Soon after I’ll be the first Forensic Psychologist in my family.

Now, a path has been paved and a foundation has been built for my family behind me to create a legacy and obtain higher education. I am the originator and now the standard for them to go beyond.

Thank you to my family for supporting me throughout my journey, for believing in me, and uplifting me no matter how hard it got. The times where I wanted to succumb to the struggle were no match for my motivation to make you all proud to call me your own.

(1/3) In 3 Days I will be graduating with my Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from the Illustrious North Carolina Central University. The last 4 1/2 years have been nothing short of transformative, enlightening, and the catalyst to the women I am today.

Deciding to go to an HBCU was the best decision I’ve ever made. I found myself at NCCU. I found my passion. I found lifelong relationships. I found the importance of service.

Dear NCCU Psychology department, Thank you for teaching me everything I know. I’ll be eternally grateful for the experiences, connections, and opportunities you’ve placed in front of me. Thank you for fueling my drive and constantly motivating me to evolve.

I’ve faced mountains I thought I would never climb. The resilience I’ve built will carry me throughout life. The hardest part of college isn’t the assignments, but the challenges you face personally while still choosing to continue your education. I’ve pushed barriers and beat the statistics that were against me. I survived!

Thank you to my family, professors, and fellow eagles.
