Tried Aerial Yoga for the first time last year in Hawail. 🧘🏻‍♀️
A much-needed session with my best friend @hiwendyhi while processing profound grief over my mentor @unopia transitioning to the other side.
She passed the following week, and her crossing taught me how precious life is—to travel, take that trip, and truly live.
Now that my yoga studio is offering aerial yoga, I’m brought back to those moments last year. It’s giving me the push to share memories from Europe, Japan, our PNW road trip, and celebrating my dad’s 75th birthday in Hawaii.

Bianca’s 12!! Outdoor Ed, danced for the talent show, played the clarinet and promoted to middle school to play volleyball! I’m winning!! Sleded our way into Lake Tahoe and over the summer we were whirling around the universe for her first international trip to Edinburgh, Scotland and cruised through Athens, Greece

Thank you Rex @funkounkohawaii for being a true friend. I know you woke up smiling on the other side pain-free. A tribute to remember the great time we had traveling to Japan, visits in SF & Hawaii. Love ya Rex!!! My heart is heavy as I say goodbye to my dear friend, Rex Freitas , who crossed over Thursday, 1/8/26.
Originally from Hawaii, Rex was the definition of Aloha. He was a man of immense kindness who always made a point to ask about my daughters and family. Rex brought the warmth of Hawaii wherever he went and made everyone feel seen and loved. He was a man of joy, laughter, and deep kindness who always put family and friends first.
Just after Christmas, my best friend Wendy and I visited him at Queen’s Hospital. I’ll never forget the tears of joy on his face when we walked in. Even then, he was the life of the room—cracking jokes and surrounded by friends. When he casually mentioned he was heading home for hospice, a shockwave went through me. I fought back tears because I wanted to keep the mood as bright as he was. Even when things got tough, Rex kept his spirit high.
When we hugged, I held on tight, knowing in my heart it might be the last time. There was a line out the door to see him that day—a true “standing room only” tribute to a life well-lived. That evening, we spoke on the phone and sang “I Left My Heart in San Francisco” together. Rex had a beautiful voice, and that melody will stay with me forever.

You were so loved, Rex. Fly high and send us a sign from the other side. Aloha, my friend. 🌈✨
