[South Africa series nr. 3] Kit & James. The main purpose of this trip was to attend one of my dearests’ wedding. I have known Kit for ages (seriously! Ages!). Kit is not your normal kind of friend. She is the most optimistic and easiest going person I know and she never judges people. Kit makes sure you get the support from her whenever it is needed. Oh dear, we have done so much together! It (almost) still feels like yesterday when we were 2 stupid kids hanging out together. I love how we have pictures together when we looked awkward as fuck as kids/teenagers and how your mom still keeps them in Germany! How much I miss clubbing with you in München and Hong Kong! I still remember you let me draw your eyebrows lol. Do you remember one time I lost as you got more phone numbers than me from guys in gay club? (Ya it was the time when people still called each other to hook up lol).
You are everything my love. I am so so glad you have found the love of your life. James, you are an amazing and warm person. Hearing your father’s speech about you and your stories, my face went like 😮. What a life you have! You guys are so perfect for each other and I am forever thankful to be able to witness your wedding. I feel privileged and utterly honoured to get to be part of this. by @deutie

[South Africa Series Nr 2] *swipe to see more pictures! One of the highlights of the trip is we got to join a 5-day safari tour in Kruger National Park and Sabi Sand Game Reserve. Within the first 3 days we saw all the big 5s (Lion, Elephants, leopards, Rhinos, Buffaloes) + cheetah, zebra and extremely endangered wild dogs! The viewing of the big5s really depends on lucks. We were extremely lucky to have seen them all in the beginning as the final 2 days were quiet and disappointing for the others who joined in later. Due to the extreme drought South Africa is experiencing these years, lots of rivers were completely dried up. It was pretty sad to see only small streams of water left in the middle of most river beds. It did however hinder the amount of mosquitoes in the area and we were thankful for that. by @deutie

[South Africa series - Nr 1] Introducing Kyler. We have known each other for 18 years. Being different was a difficult thing for me in high school. I knew I was gay since I was 6, and it made me an easy target for being bullied in junior high school. By the age of 11-14, I was constantly reminded that being different was a bad thing. Teacher would tell me “don’t walk like a sissy!” in front of the whole class. Schoolmates would make fun of me and isolate me. I didn’t have many friends until after I hit puberty and before that I was considered a fat loser at school. Kyler (she is forever a Becky to me though😁) was one of the few people (female figures also, I only had girls as friends, Yass feminism!) that were there for me when I was a confused teenager. She understood my situation at home. She would invite me to her family party and cheer me up. When I was relentlessly bullied at school, she would pull me aside so that I could take my mind off from those hurting insults. She was my gem in my ugly duckling stage. 18 years later we travel together in this amazing county called South Africa.
