Recently, I worked on the hero section for Oak.

What looks simple on the surface usually isn’t.

The goal wasn’t just to make it look good, but to make it do its job:

– communicate value immediately

– guide attention without friction

– load fast and feel stable across devices

A hero section is often the first contract between a product and its user.

If it’s unclear, slow, or visually noisy, trust drops before anything else matters.

While working on Oak’s hero, I focused on:

– clear visual hierarchy

– intentional spacing and typography

– predictable interaction behavior

– performance-aware structure

Small decisions here have outsized impact on engagement, bounce rate, and how users perceive the entire product.

This is the kind of work I enjoy: translating product intent into interfaces that feel calm, clear, and reliable.

• using AI as a multiplier, not a shortcut
• thinking clearly before writing code
• building in public and learning out loud

I thought building a simple finance app would be quick and easy… until reality hit.

A few days in, I was knee-deep in bugs broken layouts, API sync issues, and authentication errors that showed up uninvited 😅

It was chaotic, but every fix made the app (and me) better.

Now, Finance Flow is live and it works exactly how I wanted:

✅ Live financial insights

✅ Smarter transaction tracking

✅ Budgets with visible progress

✅ Clean, responsive design and auth and database powered by Supabase Auth

It’s simple, but I’m proud of it because behind every “simple” app is a lot of learning, patience, and persistence.
