One of the many joys of this little shop is hosting a small coffee bar that sources coffee direct from Costa Rican farmers. This means the coffee bar here is able to serve a variety of fresh beans from multiple in country farms and roasters, thus offering a highly curated selection of great coffees. Coffee is so dynamic in geography and taste. Searching and tasting and then working closely with producers and roasters is a unique opportunity that translates to a thoughtful coffee experience for customers here. It’s not fast overly complicated. But being here in Costa Rica is a constant exploration of nature and culture - the coffee game here is a sharp insight into both. So stop in and we chat coffee and surfboards. Big talk, little shop.

Am really excited to try something new here. In conjunction with @eveningsgroup am going to do a live weekly radio show from the shop.

Monday nights. 6-8pm Costa Rica time. 8-10pm NYC time. 8-10am (Tuesday morning) Bali time. Link in the bio.

Will be a fun mix of jazz and blues with some minor surprises. Occasional fabulous guests, but mostly just about the music. Super chill vibes from the jungle. Radio is such a powerful medium of connection and entertainment. Am inspired and grateful to Evenings for the platform. We will grow it slow and steady.

A hint of everything. What is time? Monday in the hot jungle. It is said a civilized person surrounded themselves with books and music. What to do here….. Even the dogs are tired. We have surfboards. Retail heaven. Listening room aspirant. Don Delillo fan. Charles Mingus imitator. Single fin fool. All these years riddled down to a singular room. A small business posing as a life vest. We were supposed to be closed today but so nice to be here.

This shop….. a continuous dedication to craft and beauty. Simply excellent coffee and hand crafted surfboards. Thoughtfully managed and focused. We don’t have much here in the jungle. Curated minimalism. Warmth with intension. Personality by default. A love of surfing and nature. A respect for this countries coffee production. In the jungle trying to be of exquisite service and make something beautiful and useful. We strip it back. Two hands and a lot of music. A little dream in a big field. Marbella vibes.

Deriving such joy from this little pour over coffee bar. Coffee stations have been cultivating third spaces for centuries. Not everyone surfs or is ordering custom surfboards, yet with the entre of coffee people still have the opportunity to cruise and chat and find neighbors or friends or ideas or challenges. Coffee is a tasty excuse to get out of the silo and day dream for a moment. Here at the shop we currently fully lean into the pour over coffee experience, sourcing beans from boutique Costa Rican farms and particular roasters. The network of passionate humans around this single fruit is facinating and continues to inspire and humble and fabulously distract in the best way. Life is short, order the good coffee…..
