I really shed some tears 😭 with this one because not only am I an 𝐇𝐁𝐂𝐔 𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐃, This show is so important to our people! I’ve done some amazing things in my film career and being able to continually work with legends and amazingly talented people is beyond a blessing; BUT, this right here takes the cake thus far. I am Eternally grateful!

A year ago my friend and brother called me to work on this “𝐏𝐈𝐋𝐎𝐓” I said hmm..Ok sure!. Listen, when I realized what it was..I knew in my spirit this was gonna get picked up based on the history and the ability to bridge the original characters and their audience to the new characters and the audience of this current generation! 𝐈𝐓 𝐈𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐂𝐄𝐒𝐒𝐀𝐑𝐘! Marvelously and beautifully executed! I Knew each and every character was a STAR and its beautiful to watch this all come in to fruition!

I am honored to have had played a part in the production and progression of such a work of art that is truly an integral piece of our culture and for our culture as Black/AA people.

The legendary @therealdebbieallen & @feliciapride ...no words can explain the creativity, the professionalism, the execution, and grace of these beautifully dynamic women.

Additionally,

Congratulations to all my fellow Cast and Crew who made all of this a reality during the pilot and Season 1!

A special thank you to the original writers, cast, and crew for reuniting on screen for the culture! Last but not least thank you @netflix @strongblacklead for making this a reality!

In a world where we feel we have to be constantly grinding or we’re not doing enough! Where everyone is consumed with their face card and not their SOUL CARD. 💯 I want to shout out YOU real ones in the world that have the strength to be yourself! To continue to wake up each MF day and get better. 💯💯 To never give up on your dreams. To grow passed expectations. To hit the Gym consistently! To break generational curses. To show up for yourself and still have the capacity to show up for others. To do the right thing when that shit is hard! To hold down your household and balance your life and relationships . To forgive others so you can elevate and transform. To try new things. That shit is not easy but it makes you a true G! 💪🏾Last but not least…to ignore the urge to conform to what’s trending and emit your own energy in to the world. You strong AF 💯💪🏾 #facecardvalid #2024 #newbeginnings #authentic #explorepage✨ #reels taken in Atlanta, Georgia by @devanteforreal
