Wednesday is the day of Budh, and today I find myself reflecting on what motherhood has taught me about wisdom, communication, and becoming.

My life changed in ways I could never have imagined when I became a mother. These children birthed me through an ego death that no vision quest could have offered.

Through them, I came to understand that part of my purpose was to break generational patterns of misogyny, silence, and abuse, and to raise children who know another way.

The discipline of Mother Shakti is not about control. It is the sacred discipline of tending, guiding, protecting, and allowing a child to spiral outward into their own becoming, while receiving in return an infinite abundance of power, wisdom, and love.

When my son enters a room, may his voice uphold and elevate the sacredness of women.

I want my son to feel safe enough to be fully himself, with the autonomy to face his pain, abandonment, anger, and grief, and learn to bring them into balance rather than pass them on.

This is how we raise protectors: not through domination, but through consciousness, accountability, tenderness, and strength.

Grateful to my ancestors, to my father, and to all who came before me, those who showed me what to carry forward and what must end with me.

Water our first mother. As I explore in meditation Jyotish or the science of light based upon the sidereal star-based calculations 5,000 years ago. If yoga is a “practice” our ancient culture soul and soil developed it . It is from the original people of the land my people are from Indus. The Pashupati Seal, a roughly 4,300-year-old Harappan artifact, is at the center of an internet firestorm.

The seal features a figure sitting cross-legged, surrounded by an elephant, buffalo, rhino, and tiger. British archaeologist John Marshall oversaw the unearthing of the seal in 1928 in Mohenjo-daro, one of the largest cities of the Indus Valley Civilization (IVC), dating from around 3300 to 1300 B.C.

The debate began on May 27, after India’s Ministry of Culture posted the artifact as a celebration of India’s “unbroken civilizational continuity.”

Historian Audrey Truschke countered the claim on X: “This isn’t Shiva. It’s more likely adapted from proto-Elamite iconography.”
“Proto-Elamite?…Elephants, water buffalos and rhinoceroses are not native to ancient Elam. BTW, they are native to India,” Amish Tripathi, a former Indian diplomat, countered.

The argument echoed a historical one. Marshall, the archaeologist calls a “Proto-Shiva.” He pointed to the figure sitting in a yogi position, having three heads, and a headdress that looks like a trident.

Many historians believe that Hinduism originated in the Indus Valley Civilization, about 4,000 years ago — meaning that the seal could feature a figure absorbed into Hinduism. Original post @_thejuggernaut by @devi_weaves
