I’ve always strayed from writing about love. Maybe because it feels like the most written-about thing in the world. Everyone’s felt it. It’s universal, deeply tender, impossibly vast. And yet, for all it is, it’s also been endlessly portrayed. On screen, in books, in songs, in music videos. The spark, the chemistry, the stages of falling in and out, the reconciliations, the heartbreaks. Again and again. The same tropes, the same images.

And then there are the songs. Beautiful, moving, brilliant, as @raghav_kaushik’s always are. Still, always, about love. The voice inside my head: So how are you supposed to get it right? This universally lived and endlessly portrayed feeling. LOVE. You can’t not. You love love. You can’t not get it right.

So I spiralled. For days. Tugging people around me into that spiral. Until it struck me. That maybe love is just… observation. The tiniest things you notice when you’re truly seeing someone. Things only you or your person would catch. The things @danesh_razvi caught and @kavidrama brought to life.

This video already existed before we made it. It lived inside those small observations. Mine. Yours. The ones I’ve carried from myself and those around me. How we act when we feel safe in love, comforted, seen, heard, unheard, cornered, attacked.

This film is my observation of love. And of the moments when it changes shape. Still present, but strained, unfamiliar, almost routine. When you feel it but can’t seem to express it.

And no poster, teaser or stills would ever hold what we intended to capture here. It only lives in those four minutes. And we gave everything we had to it. It’s simple. But it’s full. Made with people who believed, like me, that love means observing. And seeing. And remembering the details that slip by everyone else, but mean everything to you. (Instagram won’t let me post full films so here are some of my favourite bits from each)

7 films. 2 days.

It really does take an army of beautiful people to make THAT possible.

Started off as simple B2B “how to” films but everyone showed up wanting to make them feel like so much more. Found ways to make an overload of information feel human. Made “corporate” fun. Turned a building in Vikhroli into a tiny slice of the US.

There were also so many tiny full circle moments on this one and one must always acknowledge them.

I was told to use Zoho as a fresher in my first corporate job and was terrible at marking attendance. Years later, I was directing their films about.. tracking attendance 😭

First project with @rajivmalu after our first, Aaj Shanibar and somehow, we found ourselves shooting in a washroom again.

I first worked @kelvinator_men when I was a DA. This was our first project with me directing and him telling me he was proud of me meant more than he probably knows.

And then I met the best girls. @manasvinisekar , who was genuinely the reason I got decent sleep through those two crazy days. and ofc, my favs, @shhhhloka & @siriuslysuzie ran the set and how.

@architgite I won’t say much apart from the fact that you’re the real one. this project wasn’t easy for you but man am I GLAD we crossed paths on this one.

@firsttake.productions made 7 versions of the same composition and somehow none of them sound the same. Insane

And @jasleensahney & @palaksharma0102, just knowing you two were around was reassurance enough <3

what goes behind making a film around food and people? honestly, just people. and all the love they carry with them. people who care enough to stay back longer than they should. people who somehow keep showing up even when the timelines feel impossible. and yet, this film came together and became the most honest thing. a film about different lives briefly finding themselves in the same room, over food, over conversation, over silence, over tiny moments that feel ordinary till you realise that’s the whole point of ‘being’. so grateful to @probableena and the entire team at @talentedagency for bringing this beautiful piece to us.

and i really don’t think enough is said about the real people holding films together. for me, it was @janavi_sayani, @siriuslysuzie and @shhhhloka. and man, i love these girls so much. they are sharp, ridiculously hardworking, endlessly capable and somehow still smiling through it all. and @kelvinator_men who holds it all together when everyone else begins to lose it. we still haven’t broken our fun shoot streak and that’s all I’ll ever care about.

@rathorelakhan, not once did he approach a single frame with anything less than his whole heart. every difficult frame was met with a “let’s do it.” beneath the world’s most convincing resting bitch face is one of the sweetest people who needs to be reminded to smile lol

@vinayvgandhi, from watching me faint as an intern on a long form outdoor shoot years ago to now constantly making sure i’m okay through the madness of making films, thanks for everything.

@architgite, i genuinely think we only meet each other in sleep deprived states now. thank you for being the set of eyes i lean on when mine stop seeing clearly anymore.

@cha.loni, i still don’t understand how you pulled all of that off in a day, and i say this without glamorising insane timelines, you still poured so much care in every detail.

@palaksharma0102 always coming through, time and again.

It takes a beautiful bunch of people to make a film about people. and i think that love somehow finds its way into the frames. really proud of this one and the ones behind it ❤

A few months ago, we flew to Cape Town to shoot and direct the digital campaign for the comeback of Sierra.

The challenge: What can a tiny team of three create within the very limited windows they have with the car? Turns out, quite a lot. These are few of the many films we shot as we saw some of the most beautiful sunrises on set, the most unreal views in the rearview, wild animals casually strolling beside us and the most stunning sunsets (EVER witnessed) calling wrap for the day along with the kindest crew from Cape Town that made this experience an experience of a lifetime.

Some projects don’t feel like work. This was one of them. Made possible by our favs, Team Tata (@minalsaraf @laksh.me96 @ojasbagal) for trusting us and our vision time and again, and Team Powerdrift (@saanand.singh @khosla92) for having our backs through it all and @whataaamelon (biggest support system) who is pretty much one of us 🤭

I’ve always loved jewellery. But even more than that, I’ve loved questioning the visual language around it in India.
WHO it’s made for. HOW it’s shown. WHAT it’s meant to feel like. Always a sucker for narratives that feel fresh yet familiar. Real, relatable, and uncomplicated. New to the eyes, new to our screens, and most importantly, stories carried by women who feel like us. So we built a campaign from scratch for @mydoriofficial and the visionary siblings behind it: @simraninprogress & @gulati_sidharth. While writing and conceptualising, I wanted this film to feel like a one minute long chick flick. And I’m so excited for ya’ll to see a bit of yourselves in it, and most importantly, HAVE FUN with it.

None of this would exist without the people who stood beside me through it all. Who showed up, held the vision steady and stayed even when things felt uncertain.
Feeling very, very lucky.
