⋆ first off - how stunning are the new gold rush ranch covers, I’m obsessed!!

let’s catch up:
⋆ june was all over the place - reading was slow, life was louder, and had the bright idea to watch we were liars (emotional damage: confirmed).
releasing 10 stole a part of my soul. i’m still speechless. i need claiming 10 - immediately!!
finished the entire zodiac academy world and i know this for a fact… i’m never getting over the characters or that series.
attended my first author event - shoutout to lauren roberts, that was fun!!

⋆ july, though? she delivered. i found my reading rhythm again, mood reading didn’t miss and i fully spiraled back into my hockey romance era — no regrets.
tsitp returned, my emotional stability left and at this point i’m just living between fictional heartbreaks and iced coffee.

⋆ some books flopped, some fed. all in all, a solid two months!!

Enemies to lovers, marriage of convenience, top-tier banter? Say LESS!!

Stephanie Archer delivered with Gloves Off. This book had everything I crave in a romance - tension that simmers, banter that bites, and chemistry so good it feels illegal.

Gloves Off is the fourth book in the Vancouver Storm series and it follows Georgia Greene, a no-nonsense doctor for the Vancouver Storm NHL team and Alexei Volkov, the team’s grumpy, brooding enforcer. When a twist of circumstances throws them into a marriage of convenience, it sets the stage for one of the most satisfying enemies-to-lovers arcs I’ve read this year.

Georgia is fiercely intelligent, hard working, and extremely caring. She knows her worth, and her determination to hold her ground in a male-dominated space made her such an easy character to root for. I adored her confidence, ambition and the way she never let Alexei get the last word without a fight.

Alexei, oooft! He is extremely stubborn, annoyingly charming, and unexpectedly sweet - with a quiet protectiveness that creeps in through his gruff exterior. Let’s not forget, his not so secret obsession with Georgia’s heels.

Georgia and Alexei…Together? Electric.
The tension was on another level — every moment between them crackled. From verbal sparring to those stolen glances and soft, quiet moments where they let their guards down... it was the perfect burn with just the right amount of spice.

Then there were the flowers — soft gestures from a man who struggles to say the right thing, but still shows up in ways that mean something. The way Alexei uses flowers as a language when words fall short? Heart-melting. It was such a tender thread woven through their story, and one of the most quietly emotional parts of their connection.

Truly a 5 star read. I was hooked from the first page and fully obsessed until the last. Stephanie Archer, I am once again emotionally compromised by your fictional men. 10/10 would marry my enemy if it means I get a story like this.

⋆ ummm, hiii!! i don’t even know how it’s almost been 8 whole weeks since i last posted, that’s wild. i’ve missed it on here!! let’s just say that, life has been... life-ing. some really lovely moments, some tough ones too, but overall, it’s been pretty solid. chaotic, sure—but in that kind of beautiful, messy way.

⋆ even though reading took a bit of a back seat, i still managed to read a few old faves and discover some new ones, which has honestly been such a blessing in the middle of the chaos.

⋆ i am finally about to start releasing 10… i can’t believe i’ve been able to hold off for this long but i knew once i started i wouldn’t be able to stop and i genuinely don’t know how i’m going to cope having to wait for lizzie & hughie’s next book!

⋆ happy friday beautiful people! I hope this week has been treating you well 🫶🏻

⋆ just popping on to say that I have been absolutely crashing out over fearless the last few days. I finished it last night and honestly I am just in awe over this third book, it has exceeded every single expectation I had. lauren roberts has truly outdone herself - the emotions that it brought out of me!! I would show you the countless videos of me crying over certain pages & chapters but I don’t think that’s something anyone wants to see 😂

⋆ I will be back with a full fearless review! I may or may not need some more time to narrow down the quotes that I want to use, I will just say that there are a LOT!! kai azer does not miss, every word that comes out of that mans mouth is like a perfectly spoken gift to women.

⋆ yay to it being the weekend! I hope you are able to read until your heart’s content 🤍

⋆ appreciation post for a series that constantly feds my hockey romance obsession 🏒

⋆ to say that I have read many hockey romances is an understatement but this series is by far one of my favourites! if this series has no fans, then I am dead.

⋆ okay… I loved behind the net, don’t ever doubt that but I have to give a special shout out because I will never forget the moment I read the fake out. rory & hazel’s book has had a chokehold on me since that day, and it probably forever will. they are everything and more!!
then stephanie goes on to write the wingman… bestfriends to lovers?! I couldn’t believe it! that is my absolute favourite trope and it’s so rare to come by. not to mention it is written beautifully so of course that skyrocketed as my second favourite - hayden & darcy… say less, I love them!! 🥹

⋆ if for some reason you haven’t read this series, I beg of you please read it. you may just become utterly obsessed too!

⋆ gloves off is one of my most anticipated reads of the year, I can’t wait to see what mischief alexei and georgia get up to 🤭

⋆ as you can tell, my march was heavily romantasy based! in all honesty majority of this year has been so far and I have absolutely no complaints about it! after an entire year of not wanting to pick up a fantasy book (yeahhh, it was a rough run), I now can’t imagine not reading one for longer than a few days.

⋆ happy april beautiful people! so excited for some of the new book releases this month.

⋆ let me start by saying that zodiac academy still has the ultimate chokehold on me. majority of feb and march my constant thought has been of za & now the ruthless boys series too. I don’t know what caroline & susanne put in those books but it is something addictive!!

⋆ I have been listening the dramatised versions of acotar & acomaf - the audios are giving me life! it had been a few years since I read acotar and now I can’t remember why I waited so long to reread them, I’ve missed this world so much!! never forgot that azriel will forever be my no.1 bat boy though!🦇🤍

⋆ completely set myself up for heartbreak last week. I accidentally ended up finishing shadow princess & starting cursed fates (yes… I was a mess, iykyk), all the while listening to acomaf… tears were shed, probably should have thought that one through a little better 😂

⋆ I can’t believe feb is done and dusted! finally felt like I was back in my element with reading this last month, every book I picked up I struggled to put back down!

⋆ being back in the briar u world - they will forever be the loves of my life
⋆ being approved for gloves off and wild & wrangled arcs!!
⋆ first-time caller - such a emotionally cute read!
⋆ really enjoyed deep end - it was my first read from ali hazelwood!

⋆ only 17 days late but I mean, are we surprised? it’s me after all…

⋆ january was an incredible one, I was lucky enough to:
- spend a week relaxing at the coast
- travel to a new city (perth, so gorgeous!)
- spend two and a half weeks with my sister who lives on other side of the country (lots of exploring)
- attend a reading retreat with a few book besties (best time ever!)
- finally got to meet the amazing @cozywtea!
- ONYX STORM (never EVER getting over it and yes, I’m still in my depression stage)
- see benson boone & luke combs in concert, only 3 days apart!!
- arrive home to my puppy, friends & family with a full cup, amazing new memories and happy to be home (especially back to my own bed).

⋆ january book highlights:
- the empyrean series dramatised adaptation (perfection)
- again, onyx storm (I may never shut up about it, sorry)
- mixed signals & business casual (I adore these books🥹)
- wrath of an exile (one of the best second gen books I have ever read)
