Around 6 to 7 weeks ago, I started building one my most audacious projects to date, The Ego Alter 🎭A nearly 20 foot tall, holographic projection mapped, voice prompted, generative magic mirror, Designed to rapturously tear you into the present ,as to inspire a temporary ego death, bewilderment was the most powerful tool I could devise to instill the necessary existential awe ,Where a 12 W laser can outline your body on a wall at 100 yards , and from your dance moves it can organically synthesize audio controlled via software instruments in Ableton from 52 data points i can extrapolate from each participants body Quite literally adorned with love the devils is in the details , the doors covering the speakers are carved from the relief image of a voice memo waveform I personally recorded.. “you are loved” Where as the pillars contain a Simple story of our own impermanence By the hands 🤲🏻From the head 🧠Through the heart 🫀For the fruit 🍋To the stars 🛸Upon a purchase order, a custom coded web api hook automation will trigger a video-Photo Booth with audio sent to your email containing a custom brandable animation and live feed of the instance you choose to interact with the piece and the prompt you personally spoke.. triggering vertical gyser fog machines hidden inside made of reclaimed eastern cedar floorboards from @treehousestpete a 100 year old church where I was able to graciously assemble this beast, pulling 12 hour days for a month straight , in one of the most divine spaces in our city , working right alongside @marijatiurina as she painted a modern day fresco at 25 feet adorning the nearly ancient walls of this beautiful building, where she toiled under the weight of the noise from my power tools to craft a master piece, and calling the newest location of @thelemonadestandstpete a resting place for her brief stay in the states coming all the way from holland to lend a hand in restoring this beautiful space the city is trying oh so hard to erase from the beautiful tapestry of st Pete’s history In a true full circle moment ,the initial polygon i made in my own “graffiti gallery” so to debut @manawynwood @artwithmelife was neat by @devin_constant

From spinning sunken treasure in a pulley activated (take one leave one) treasure chest. To a brain bobbing Line-diving siren’s skeleton, situated perfectly as a selfie opt. This immersive installation was made for @electric_forest A large scale music festival with a conceptual catered restaurant buildout called “The Dive”. @harmonic_graffiti aka @deepdivingdevin was brought in to build an interactive, motion-activated sunken ship “portal” threshold.This interactive lobby was powered by body activated audio and a custom LLM software stack allowing guest to turn themselves into a mermaid or pirate in live time as an apparition beneath the waves .Airated bubble columns, hidden fans , sculptural concrete scenery , with glow in the dark uv creatures and antique oddities to boot, created for an instance , to make memories that last a life time.For your number one choice in dream building you know who to reach @devinc.io #immersiveart #interactiveart #techart #explorepage #immersiveexperience by @devin_constant

I always figured this looks about as ridiculous as it seems, for my day-to-day work as a full time creative , I use two computer systems .Windows and Mac. And when I’m in the flow, I generally use both at the same time. As ridiculous as that sounds, they both have their strengths. For advanced computer programming, web design , projection mapping, and CAD fabrication I use my PC, For all of my photo editing , audio mixing and mastering/recording, and any video work I tend to use my Mac with a full size weighted keyboard underneath Of course I can’t stop there. There’s usually no less than also an additional screen attached to both😅. Unfortunately, coupled with my phone and sometimes an iPad for procreate. This means I work off of roughly a half dozen screens at any point in time 🤣🤣🤣 can you tell I’m gen z?! My grand piano and the oil paintings keep me humble as I suppose I can say those are actually just my hobbies , but when you do what you love you tend not to get too caught up in what that looks like and then you end up here 🤣***#explorepage #immersiveart #artist #techart #largeart by @devin_constant

I’ve been fortunate enough to play two Latin/Spanish sets this year (so far 😉), and I’m looking forward to Número Tres with St. Pete Sound Machine — a world music group that celebrates both traditional and modern Latin and global music classics. 💃The lineup is already stacked, featuring Devin Constant @devin_constant on percussion 🪘 and Michael Tamayo @michaeljtamayo on bass 🎸.
