nothing sweeter than apple pie 🥧
I was born in October, and my birthday “cake” has literally been an apple pie every year since I was a kid. so I wrote a song about it to give you that fall feeling. yours now. by @devkennedymusic

new song, “California Girl” is out now 🤍

wrote this one with @johnnystimson and @grantterrymusic

lives in reseda
works in pasadena
she knows freeways like the back of her hand
she loves her mother
her sister and brother
spends every weekend with her feet in the sand

she’s been making big, big plans
to get her passport stamped
lose herself to find herself again

everywhere she goes, she’s bringing the sunshine
she can’t help but glow all over the world
you can take the girl out of california
but you can’t take the california out of the girl

you can try, you can try, you can try

she loves the dodgers
just like her father
listens to “free fallin’”
takes the long way home
thought she’d marry a lawyer
buy a house in la jolla
but she’s finding freedom in flying solo

she’s been making big, big plans
to get her passport stamped
lose herself to find herself again

everywhere she goes, she’s bringing the sunshine
she can’t help but glow all over the world
you can take the girl out of california
but you can’t take the california out of the girl

she changed her hair
she moved somewhere so far away
but her heart won’t let her stay

everywhere she goes, she’s bringing the sunshine
she can’t help but glow all over the world
you can take the girl out of california
but you can’t take the california out of the girl

you can try, you can try, you can try taken in California by @devkennedymusic
