Recipe 🤤

Soak Jeera Masino (a common Nepali rice) overnight, any short, thick, slightly sticky rice will work.

In the morning, drain the rice and grind it into a smooth, thick batter along with ghee and sugar. Add a pinch of cardamom if you like a hint of fragrance.

Mix well until the batter is slightly thick, think pancake consistency.

Now, heat oil in a deep pan and pour the batter in a ring shape. For better control, use a spouted cup or a squeeze bottle. My mom used my niece’s old pet bottle, true innovation! 😬

Fry until golden brown on both sides, flipping once and that’s it.

Your Sel Roti is ready to be devoured… and will stay delicious for days!
