Been about a year! Grateful for so much more singing in my life, both jamming with friends and gigs with @stillmotionband . For all that I learned teaching theater, singing & dance at the sweet special little jungle school @nosaraplayhouse and getting to be around creative playful kids every day. For the all consuming (and incredibly humbling) new hobby of surfing🏄‍♀️ . Life update (the longer one for the interested friends from afar)

I came here listening to a quiet & strange but strong inner pull. I feel myself getting so many of the things I want - a life filled with more music and singing, sharing my love of theatre with kids, more connection to nature, more opportunities for play (surfing, jamming) friendships and communities I get to regularly be a part of. It leads to the question - “what else?”

I am not trying to paint a perfect image of my life changes. It’s been challenging too. I had to start fresh with new friends, the frustrations of learning a new language and not always being able to express myself, learning how to do a new job, a breakup, getting sick, missing family & friends. I don’t want to paint in an incomplete picture of bliss without hardship.

But I’ve noticed that the more I am thankful for life’s generosity, the more generous life is with me. And so the “what else?” actually becomes more about letting the rush inside me settle. It’s that mysterious little task we’re all told to “be in the present moment”. It turns out that’s actually harder work than any work grind/hustle. But it’s the life I want.

We’re entering the year of the horse, and I’ve always had a bit of a kicking foal energy in me- one that wants to sprint towards a dream on the horizon. But this year I’m going to let the foal sit by the watering hole instead. Let her enjoy the views and walk when she wants to, but without the chase🐴 May I remember that the experience of gratitude doesn’t need to be limited to singular grand flashes in the big moments of life, but that with a little discipline I may feel the gratitude of little things in life daily. And you can too 🫶🏻
