Goodbye summer! 🌞

It’s here. My favourite season. Like a basic betch, in she comes with her golden leaves, spicy hot drinks, Sunday pub roasts, hikes in wellies, bone-grey skies, darker evenings, darker mornings, woollen hats & jumpers, horror games & films, rainy reading sessions, rainy dog walks. Rain. Rain. Rain…

This summer was one of my favourites. Having Poppy to gallivant around in made it even more special. I feel recharged from the sun, ready to start my hibernation ritual for the next few months.

The year so far…

Remember when I said I’d post more on social media back in December? Well, hello June 😅… thought I would round up some memories for this year, even if it’s just for me to look back on without scrolling through 5000 photos on my camera roll.

This year has had its ups and downs, a balance in some way. More good than bad for sure, which is a win as far as I’m concerned. I sit here typing this out on this little glass vessel that always seems to suck up too much of my time, time that I am always chasing… but I’m happy 😊

In a weeks time, I’m travelling around France with Tom & Daisy for a couple weeks in Poppy, something I’ve wanted to do in forever, so I’m going to try and document as much as I can from this adventure here on IG. 👀

Anyway, I’m waffling on. Here are some of fave photos this year:

1. Newest selfie, taken last night when the sun was rolling in the windows and I was feeling my oats 💅
2. One of my favourite hikes from my house in any season and any weather (better when it’s Summer and the sun is out tho)
3. A photo taken by my oldest & bestest friend on one of our adventures (Love you to the moon Rox) 🌙🤍
4. Poppy on Dartmoor with a sun halo ( I saw 3 of these this year)
5. Daisy’s 3rd birthday (dedicated post for this beautiful soul coming soon)
6. Many adventures with this one this year. Love you always ❤️
7. Pen Y Fan complete. Wales felt like home (just with a much lovelier accent)
8. Our first proper camp out in Poppy. (Not disclosing the place as I think keeping your digital footprint close, too many places are getting ruined by CU Next TuesdayS)

Let’s start a little (of many) festive photo dumps I’m planning for December.

1. Starting strong with the wreath I made last week (I swear if someone steals this from my door I’ll be fuming)
2. Me in my office, it’s been so nice to have a space I love being in to create videos, it’s been a blessing this year.
3. I repotted Pam (my monstera) today and she’s looking bleddy stennnin.
4 & 5. Me and best mate went to Totnes Christmas market last night, mulled wine and the best Father Christmas I’ve ever seen!
6. Winter sunsets at home. Walking Daisy around this time is my favourite.
7. Festive PJ’s, fire, all the lights on. Ball obsessed Daisy. LUSH.

“In the story of life, 40 is the chapter where it all starts to make perfect sense.”

I’ve hit that milestone today, and honestly… it feels good, really good. I don’t have it all figured out (does anyone ever?), but I finally feel at home in my own skin.

The biggest shift? I genuinely don’t care what people think anymore. What I do, what I wear, what I create, what I say…it’s all for me. There’s so much freedom in that.

If my twenties were about figuring it out and my thirties were about building it… my forties are going to be about living it. Fully, unapologetically, and with a little bit of chaos sprinkled in (of course)

These old bones are now in Greece for the next two weeks with people I love, how lucky I am.

- 24 Miles onto Dartmoor -

I walked 24 miles from Totnes to Ivybridge in Devon. First a short train journey into Totnes, then walking NE to Buckfastleigh. I grabbed a pasty to get some calories into me (I burned through 2500 on this hike and over 40,000 steps 😮‍💨)

A quick little stop at The Abbey Inn for a cheeky ale overlooking the River Dart (the water is brown at the minute because of recent heavy rainfall and the peat)

Lots of this trail was so overgrown, I got stung by nettles big time and also lost my new sunglasses in them somewhere 😭 but none of that mattered!

I love the juxtaposition of being in the quintessential Devon countryside one minute and then out onto the open vistas of Dartmoor.

This was yet another training hike for my Dolomites adventure which is exactly 3 weeks away today, can’t bloody wait to share that with you all!

Have the best weekend whatever you get up to, I’m resting my legs for the day and going to watch Snow Patrol on Plymouth Hoe this evening 😍

I walked 20 miles along the South West Coast Path on the north coast of Cornwall. Started in Padstow and ended in Newquay. The universe graced me with amazing weather and it’s the best hike I’ve been on for ages!

I’ve been hibernating for the winter, hence why there hasn’t been much on my Aden Wanders channel. Im trying to follow the seasons in my activity levels, we as humans are meant to rest and recuperate with the winter season, and I’ve done just that. But with January ending, I’m getting my hiking boots back on and delving back in.

This year I’m walking 87 miles over 10 days in the Dolomites in Italy with 2 of my friends, something I’ve been dreaming of doing for so many years. This is the year I turn 40!! So what better year to do it in, and of course I’m going to be filming the whole adventure for you lovelies.

Keep an eye out on my Aden Wanders channel for tomorrow, I had a little adventure with a friend back in October I’m finally going to edit for you all 😘

Autumn is officially here and I needed to get out and do my favourite thing in the world in my favourite season 🍁🍂

Hiking is the one thing that calms my soul and quietens the over thinking, the anxiety. Everything just becomes about getting to a destination and enjoying every single part of that process, even the tired legs and steep hills.

I walked around 21 miles (a few miles were added on because of avoiding private land) I picked a place to get a short train journey to and walked to another train station. Seeing this season take hold of Devon & Cornwall is so beautiful. The light changes into gold or grey and the smells broaden, damp earth and crispy leaves.

I didn’t record this one for YouTube as I just wanted to be in the moment taking everything in. I still have a video coming from a few weeks back, I just haven’t had the time to edit it just yet, but it’ll be with you all this week!

That elusive ball of fire in the sky is back again… after non stop rain since January, the weather finally feels like it’s changing and I’ve missed it so much.

Today was one of those great days. After breakfast with some loved ones I decided to hike into the countryside and then to the sea for a dip. (The water was freezing!!) but it felt gooood!

The benefits of getting outside into nature and moving your body is second to none. I feel reborn (minus the throbbing feet which I’m now nursing at home)

Tomorrow I go and stay in a treehouse with my best friend, I’m recording the adventure so be on the lookout for a new video on Aden Wanders in the week!

Me, Tom & Daisy hiked over to Cawsands & back from our house today, now that Spring really feels like it’s beginning, you’ll be seeing a lot more of these kinds of videos.

Recently I decided to make a second YouTube channel about my love for hiking/camping & exploring, completely different vibes from my usual video type 😅 I have a multi day hike along The Saints Way planned this month, I’ll be walking 30 miles from Padstow to Fowey alone over 2 days and filming the whole adventure! The channel name is Aden Wanders, it’s not yet live, nor any branding finished just yet, but watch this space, I’ll keep you all updated! Can’t wait to take you beauts along for this new ride 😌

So, 2023 is close to being over. It’s been one of the toughest years I’ve had. But it’s also been full of new challenges and I’ve grown through them. I really opened my mind more than ever to spirituality and being present in the moment and within myself.

I’m hoping 2024 will be easier, but still full of challenges that will allow me to grow more into who I am.

I hope the same for all of you and wish you a very Happy New Year.

Here is a little carousel of some random photos of 2023!

1. Me and Tom went to one of my favourite pubs just after Christmas, which included a big walk to blow away the cobwebs after being horizontal and full of cheese/chocolate for 3 days 😂
2. One of the last photos I took of Blue before he crossed the rainbow bridge 🌈
3. I took myself to the Headland Hotel in Cornwall for afternoon tea while I was in the midst of grief. The cakes helped for a while… 🍰
4. Many a trip away with these beauts this year. 30+ years of friendship and so many more to go 💚
5. This little terror came into our lives and turned it upside down. At first it was hard, and then it wasn’t and then we loved her 🐶
6. Me & Toms trip to Cornwall, a place that will always have my heart 💘
7. I started to notice a change in my body after going to the gym for a year. Next year I will be an Adonis 💪🏽
8. One of my favourite places I visited this year. Shilstone House is so beautiful 🤩
9. Being in this gorgeous villa with the person I love was everything I needed and more after the year we had. 🏖️
10. Taking myself for a spa day. Something I will factor into my life more in 2024.

It’s that wonderful time of year again 🎄

I started on the decorations today to help kick in some festive feelings and it worked! I even trusted Tom to get the tree by himself after work and he came back with this gorgeous 10ft beast 😂

I still have more rooms I want to decorate, but I’m going to slowly do them in the next couple weeks. We’re hosting Christmas for my family this year, so I’m going all out with EVERYTHING.

It’s also the first Christmas without Blue, it was weird and sad not having him around while we decorated the tree, we’d always give him a beard with the net the tree came in 😂 I tried with Daisy but she wasn’t about that life lol

I’m also off to London this weekend with my best friend, we’re going to see Kylie Minogue in the Royal Albert Hall and I can’t bloody wait! London around Christmas is always magical.

Just a little carousel of our holiday to Zakynthos. Greece is such a special place to me, no matter what area or island of Greece, I always have the most amazing time. The food, the people and the culture is incredible. I can’t wait to go back next year (I want to try Mykonos next time)

I’m home now! But I’ve decided to take weekend to recalibrate with home life and be back fresh next week with more content! So all videos will return on Tuesday and I can’t wait!

A little run down of the photos for you >

1. The view from our villa (I’m going to build this in TS4 and link to where we stayed as many of you asked about it)
2. The villa, a 2 bedroom eco villa in the northern mountains of Zakynthos.
3. One of the many beaches we visited, the water is crystal clear and warm.
4. Me and Tom hired our own boat and took around the coast, but the weather was not good that day and I hated it 😂
5. Some of the architecture in Zakynthos town, sadly a lot of the older buildings were destroyed in an earthquake in the 1950’s
6. We ate A LOT of food and I love the feeling of sitting outside eating underneath the olive trees on a warm evening pissed up on Mythos 😂
7. The famous Navagio shipwreck that is an Instagram hotspot, it was nice to see it from our own boat away from the troves of tourists though!
8. Me acting all nonchalant as Tom becomes my personal photographer.
9. Xigia Sulphur Beach, it smelled like rotting bum hole, but made your skin feel amazing 😅
10. The green fields of home. Nothing makes me happier than seeing our beautiful green country again after being away!

So there you have it, it’s time to start nesting into Autumn, my favourite season! Log fires, dog walks on the moors and pub lunches are on the horizon and I can’t f00kin wait🍁🍂🪵🎆🎇
