Since high school, wildfire work was home to me. A year off last year was strange. Scheduled time off, and less of a rush was needed. I missed the smoke, the forests, and the controlled chaos that comes with it; turns out my work lined up perfectly to come back for one more.

The early summer work had me coast bound in the rope access world. I’m use to being on the road and gone but it was nice to have the opportunity to go for a road trip due to that job coming to an abrupt finish. I’m happy to have had the opportunity to bring my daughter with me to collect the life items I had there for my return. It’s easy to be distracted with life tasks but it’s also important to stop. I’m not good at that. “They grow fast” many say…man is that true ❤️ by @devonjibbersmith

14 years of growing and learning. Our marriage (officially 3 years now) has tough me a lot; to be a great partner means I can be myself. It’s has taught me about being me! Also, being there for each other when times are hard; that’s where we find the most growth.

I’ve learned as a parent to slow things down and stop because I don’t have an “off” switch. Thank you @christinanicolereed for the reminder on that cause I need a boot time to time.

Time always moves at the same pace. I blinked a couple times though and realized our little girl is now 12 and going on to high school. Hard to believe we sat here at Ainsworth 11 years and 10.5 months ago with you. ❤️ taken in Ainsworth by @devonjibbersmith

To the parents of young bikers in the community:

This becomes more than just “a trail” for the community. It shares the love and passion Everest has for biking that gave him a goal and drive to keep progressing. It goes a long way in a young one’s world when they have that opportunity to learn a sport and fall in love with it like Everest has. by @devonjibbersmith
