WE DO RECOVER🥹🫶🏼 from tears of disappointment & shame to tears of happiness and PRIDE♥️

honestlyyyy not ready to share the details of this journey but i will say that it has been nothing short of f*cking difficult. i have picked myself up innumerable times over just this past year. i’ve reminded myself that getting through each day, each stresstul moment, each celebration, etc without turning to alcohol was a HUGE accomplishment.

so proud of myself for not only being on this journey to be someone my younger + older selves would be proud of, but also for sharing a very vulnerable detail of my life. if there’s even one person that can relate to this at least they will know that they’re not alone. it’s okay to be imperfect, need to change, & to ask for help 🫶🏼

as a local, i absolutely loveee this coffee spot in Ocean Grove! 🤍☕️ the building used to be a bank, and you can tell from the beautifully tall ceilings + the vault that they use to sell local art & thrifts!

every since i heard about the Cornell r*pists, i haven’t stopped thinking about Jane Doe.

i haven’t stopped thinking about the betrayal of a “friend”, the 7 “prestigious ivy league students” (r*pists) that all collectivly agreed to take part in heinous acts for 7 long hours, the the cowardice of 50+ men in a groupchat, the insane mismanagement from Cornell’s administration aka the f*cking essays, the priority of “protecting young men’s futures” (f*ck them and their futures), the silence, the list goes on.

Jane Doe, i believe you and stand firmly with you. i am wildly angry, frustrated, sad, and dissapointed. and the same goes for every Jane Doe there ever was (aka 1 in 2 women, according to the CDC).

men, you MUST do better. hold your friends, family, and strangers accountable for both their words and actions. no friendship should EVER be worth more than someone’s safety.

Jane Doe, the one who truly matters (and the only one who’s future should be protected), i stand with you, believe you, and am thinking about you… a lot. by @devonmichelee

sometimes it’s hard not to compare yourself to people who seem so much further ahead, but i’m learning that my life doesn’t have to look perfect to be moving in the right direction 🥹🤍
