Some of our members are taking part in Doddiscombsleigh Art Show, which is a charitable event held every two years in aid of Doddiscombsleigh Primary School and Preschool.

There’s an Art Exhibition showcasing work from 60+ artists from across the South West alongside a gallery shop and cafe. The Art Show will run 23rd-25th October in the Teign Valley Hall, Christow, set in the Teign Valley.

This year’s event will also introduce a new pre-exhibition programme of artist-led talks and workshops in the week leading up to the exhibition, curated by artist and curator Lucy Malone, formerly Co-Director of the Museum of Ordinary People (Brighton). The initiative aims to expand community engagement, with sessions including discussions on artistic inspiration and practical advice on marketing and self-promotion for creatives. by @devonopenstudios

Today was the last day of @devonopenstudios which started with my internet going down. So it's been a quiet day, luckily I had a cyanotype workshop planned for the morning and the Sun shone splendidly.
I do run workshops quite regularly in my Studio and I am also open by appointment for people to come and visit. Just contact me directly to sort out a date and time. I do now have the internet back !
I am always open to commissions so if you don't see what you would like on my website ask me about it ! by @devonopenstudios

🎨 Devon Open Studios is open this weekend!

The final weekend of Devon Open Studios 2026 is here, with artists across Devon opening their studios, homes and creative spaces to visitors.
Here’s a glimpse behind the scenes at two of the studios you can visit this weekend:

🪵 @OrchardCarvingStudio - Dartington Cider Press, venue PS24
Discover the work of woodcarver and artist William Barsley, with handcrafted pieces on display and a chance to see the creative process in action.
 ⏰ Open today, 11am–3pm

🎨 Franziska Hörmann @franciscart_ - Totnes, venue PS20
Explore Franziska’s abstract mixed-media paintings, full of texture, colour and expression. 
⏰ Open today and tomorrow, 10.30am–5.30pm

LAST CHANCE! ✨ My Devon Open Studios pop-up gallery closes this Sunday.

What you might see if you visit an artist in their studio. You might catch them actually making some of the hand made work they create. So you can see how and where it is made. Not always in a neat pristine environment. But where it all happens ! This I feel is a great opportunity to be invited into these artists studios and spaces. As Devon Open Studios enters its final few days, there’s still time to nominate a studio for the Heather Jansch Studio Award 🐴
The award celebrates the life of renowned Devon sculptor Heather Jansch, a long-standing supporter of Devon Open Studios.
Each year, visitors are invited to nominate the studio where they received the warmest welcome during their Open Studios visit.

🏆 The winning studio will receive a small bronze horse head, modelled on Heather’s horse RaRa, to display for one year, along with publicity celebrating their studio.
💛 Have you visited a studio that made you feel particularly welcome? We’d love to hear about it!

🗳️ Voting closes Saturday 19 September at 3pm

The winning studio will be announced at the Devon Open Studios Celebration Event at Thelma Hulbert Gallery on Saturday evening.

A bunch of wee bowls made from repurposed birch ply finished in food grade oil and english bee’s wax.. I’ll be in my workshop all week as part of the @devonopenstudios come and grab one! by @devonopenstudios
