🚨Caution: Loud Screams In Video🚨
It’s crazy how life works. My mom has asked me for months if I’d be able to make it to her 60th birthday celebration. I didn’t answer and would find ways to make her forget I didn’t answer, only because I wanted to surprise her instead.

It was either get a flight 2 hours away for a cheaper cost or a flight 25 mins for a higher price. When it comes to family and my mother, paying a “higher price” was a bargain. When I finally got to the airport and my uber driver picked me up, he got me to the house and I had him drop me off into another side of the neighborhood.

I noticed, my mom wasn’t home as I didn’t see her car. So I called her and it just so happened she was on her way home as she had demand for her homemade hot sauce and was coming home to pick them up.

Little did she know, she was coming home to more than just her hot sauce. She was coming home to her baby boy who she hasn’t seen in years.

I love you mom and may your 60th birthday be the best one yet.

To anyone who still has their mothers, hug them while you still can. To anyone who has lost their mothers (I know plenty and I pray for you all more than you know) I’m hugging my mother extra tight as I know you all wish you could have one more hug with yours… one that lasts forever. by @devonte.m.wilson

First jump was 68 inches, second jump was 77-78inches. Then I jumped 12 plates with 135lbs, 9.5 plates with 225lbs, 6 plates with 315lbs, and 3.5 plates with 405lbs. If you are like me and have been slept on all your life, give them something that they have to wake up for! Don't be someone who is going to accept the cards that life gave you. Give life back the cards because you should know your worth. So show everybody what you have to offer and someone will recognize that you're someone who deserves a chance.
Like I always say, one day God will allow me to show my potential 🙏 @athleticstandard by @devonte.m.wilson

It's crazy how much improvements I have gotten over the course of one summer. In the 100 days that was given to me, 99 of those days were in the gym. My dad was asked "Why don't you get some sleep?" His reply is what set the tempo for my summer. He told the person "I can sleep when I'm dead. Until then, I don't need no sleep." Don't be afraid to give up sleep for results. I happen to do it a lot, but I see were I get it from. My mom and dad are go getters, I had no choice but to refuse letting grass grow under my feet. Which is why I do what I do, and that is grind! by @devonte.m.wilson

It’s crazy how fast time has flown by. It’s been 10 years since I have got a chance to measure my vertical and I can say, I am shocked I was able to hit as high with the lack of discipline I have had. However, I am inspired to actually train again and get back right.

Lack of serious training and landed a 40in standing and a 42in total.

May this be the start of new journey. Ground zero to train my vertical actively again.

Dreams don’t shine, unless you grind. It’s grind time! by @devonte.m.wilson

I’ve spent years doing what most people won’t even attempt.

This is a 50lb med ball jump.

Not impossible.

Just uncomfortable.

Most people avoid that.

Be honest…

could you do this? 👇

I love to going to places to where I see something and the first thought that comes to mind is “I wonder if I can touch that?” Next thing you know, there I go jumping to see.

I was not expecting an audience of people above me, who were waiting in line for the theme park ride. However being able to do this and make the kids smile is an experience that is hard to describe.

Wish the video kept going as they wanted me to do it again and I told them I’ll do them one better by hitting a backflip, waving goodbye and going to find the next thrill to seek.

Life is very interesting and can be fun if you allow yourself to seek out opportunities that sparks your inner child.

Woke up today and the first word that came to my mind was “Wow” as I never imagined I’d live to see 30.

God could have taken me out of this world 9 times and each time, He has chosen my life has purpose and there are still people who I still need to reach to spread his message, in order to make their lives a little bit better.

I want to thank each and every one of you who has supported me from the very beginning when I was pursuing collegiate sports and possibly something further.

Now the training I do, is to train and prepare for life and the days to come. I hope each and every one of you may find value in the future content I’ll deliver.

Regardless of if you’ve been supporting me from the very beginning or recently. Just know I appreciate you truly and I hope I am able to produce value in some way that helps you change for the better. by @devonte.m.wilson

It’s awhile since I’ve posted, yet the grind always continues.
.
Ended up jumping 54inches with a 50lb medicine ball, which was different.
.
The human body is capable of so doing so much more than we give credit for.
.
However, the limits are often not physical, yet mental.
.
The mind will place a mental limit before your body places a physical one.

One thing I love about the gym is when I get humbled.

Jumping 72inches/6ft is no easy task, yet not many dare to try at least.

Here is one of my rare fails that I’m glad my phone didn’t run out of storage to capture. Enjoy 😂

Every time it’s my plyometric day, I never know what will come of it 😂. It’s always all love at the end up the day. Hit 69inches for reps before hitting 72inches. That time away from social media to dive within, really worked wonders. But like always, it’s grind time! 💯✊🏽😤 by @devonte.m.wilson

It’s crazy to think how this workout was not supposed to happen, yet I’m forever grateful it did. I missed my 4am gym workout and had all the excuses to not go.
.
Which is exactly why I went and now I have a new personal record of 75inches/6’3”. I’m only 6’0” and did this in my socks, no shoes, no trampoline, just conviction and heart.
.
Who would’ve thought the 28 year old Devonte would be more athletic than the 21 year old Devonte. Never let age be the excuse to be less than what you’re capable of.

It was my first time at this gym location and I’ve never had someone stop their training set in order to run over to me after seeing me struggle to set up my phone to record this jump.
.
When I go to jump “high”, the goal is to make the jump within 3 tries before I call it a day. I haven’t jumped in over 2 weeks and let’s just say 72inches is becoming clock work to me.
.
I really appreciate the lady for recording and I am excited to see what this location has to offer because I heard there’s some people who can jump too…just not as high 🫣.
.
The goal I’m aiming for is 75inches/6’3”, etc. We got work to do in the mean time.
