24 years in savannah, shaped by the heat and the stagnation. in one month, it feels like another 24 years have passed. 12,000 km away and 9 hours ahead, i figure out a new life in dubai continuing this journey.

so far away from everything. most days are quiet. most days are lonely. all my friends are across the world. all my family across the world. my life isn’t the same anymore. it comes and go. but i remember why i’m here. in 24 years, i’ve done what most wish to do in a lifetime. to film inside stadiums. to tell your own stories. to lose & to gain. i remember, what it means to my people. cousins younger than me who’ve met eternal life. family who never saw life beyond georgia lines. friends who dream too. the crews who gave me the opportunity to direct them. in their lifetime, if they can’t do it all, i hope in my lifetime i hope i can give back the light they gave to me in this journey.

even when i don’t believe in myself to do the things i aspire to do, consistently i’m picked up by those who stand on their own. grayson, a friend of 10 years, flew 20 hours across the world to step into this next chapter of life, from my first film to now. in doha, our friend of 10 years too , @martinbjuras , joins us. freshmen year of highschool i wouldn’t imagine us driving thru desert dunes, but for whatever reason they were down to do so. from the beginning, i was never alone, across the world they waited to welcome me. for months, @_shahed_ibrahem_ & @sarasamir.art became pillars in the sand, a foundation they built so that i could have the chance to continue to carry the spirit of my purpose. so when i fall down, they show aptitude and strength to pick me up beyond their obligation and i hope i can do the same.

i shouldn’t fret when i run into those who built their foundation purely on sand. stand for nothing, fall for anything. who hide behind the facade of dms. months of communication to run and hide. if i had a diamond tester, they’d be wearing moissanite lol. i am who i am and it is what it is. so from now on, if this is my chance to get it, by the grace of God, there’s a way and imma do it for everyone.

it’s never gon be easy, it’s never gon be cheap, it’s never gon make sense but i’d rather go through of all that rather than never do it - thank you to all the people who made this possible and worked to achieve this goal.

the narrative of a film is cool but far the experience of making this has been so surreal. from sending and getting mail across seas, finding the perfect flowers, making another film in savannah, shooting all the bts on film, making new friends, traveling to new places, and by farrrrrrrrr flexing all my arabic skills. it’s been a pleasure to work with everyone.

I bought my ticket in March just to be able to watch the Atlanta show as a fan, to be able to have the opportunity to work on it. INSANE. I feel grateful, but to be in highschool three years ago in Savannah and now to be in SoFi Stadium. Amazing. I just want to thank everyone for making this possible for me.

Thank You @micahbickham x @colelbrian. They not only gave me the opportunity, but they allowed me to sense & feel the world and people around me. They were thorough, they were honest, and most importantly they were leaders.

Thank You @haleysliger x @jordy.wax x @chasehsmith x @markbrandonsmith for being guides & allowing me in their space along w/ allowing me to learn in great detail.
