Why is this app such a buzzkill? Sometimes I can’t help but feel alienated even when I’m making art to connect with others. Weird. When did I become such a loner? Lolololol

I started doing these “journal entries” (empty digital canvases I just use as a sketchbook) a few months back to give myself more opportunities to draw without planning and experiment and/or perfect techniques. More times than not I beat myself up about not drawing fanart enough (give the “people” on the internet what they want? Naw…) but the joy and belonging I feel when drawing my characters is unmatched.

Characters left to right are: YaHirah, Nate (eyeball), Summer (kamehameha), Jacob (horns), NayVadius (Skeleton with Intestines, gross) I haven’t drawn the main cast of this story (Everyone including Skinny- the protagonist to my upcoming manga one shot who’s quite the potty mouth) and drawing them again made me so happy… I first created these characters at the age of 21 and now at 26, I feel like I can finally draw them how I always wanted to… Now to keep creating and finishing my smaller stories so I can finally get to them lol…

Working more to post everyday, it still feels gross and the TikTokification of social media still irks me. Too many people getting attention for the wrong things, too many gurus and fake teachers, too much fake admiration. But what’s new? U gotta do it anyways…

Some developmental studies for Skinny- the protagonist of my upcoming oneshot manga “SKinnY! The Pain of Choice”.

Crafting this guys likeness and design has really stretched my skills and grew me a lot as an artist, writer, and designer. “How would he look swinging his blade?” “How would he look running, jumping, or yelling at someone?” Studies like these help answer all those questions I may have. And these studies are one of many… The more time spent the realer he gets…

I be reluctant to even write captions anymore cuz who even reads them? But development on this project has been great, sometimes it’s uncomfortable to take my time but it only produces better results- patience is indeed a virtue gang

Very early Promo Art Explorations for my manga one shot titled “SKinnY!” I’ve been anxiously busting my a** writing and developing this for the last 6 months or so and I’m just about ready to start production on drawing pages. A hell of a lot of work to do and still some more to develop; but I’m excited to finally show people what I’m truly capable of. “I’ll deal with it in my Dreams…” 🥱🥱🥱

I tried a lot of new things with this one on my journey to build my rendering styles. I’m proud of this one, I really think I hit a turning point for myself both technically and stylistically. Obviously still years of work to go...

Juggling a few projects and a challenging business atm lol. I’m also going through quite the metamorphosis as an artist and person- so that’s… fun lol.

In the meantime, I’m working to get my paintings like this in more physical spaces(galleries/shows) and finding new interesting ways to “print” my work; so digital artists can stop being treated as less than. I know I’m tired of it. I’m tired of a lot of things. We all are. So let’s work together more.
