LIVE FROM BUDDY TODD is now out on all platforms. We dropped these videos on YouTube and I find some subtle improvised genius riff or pocket every time I listen back. The band cut up and the blend was something different. We ain’t get to rehearse just vibed out.

I felt like it was magical movement we captured, so maybe you’d want to be able to hear it all the time. If you haven’t heard it yet, I hope y’all enjoy it…HEAVY REPITITION 🙂‍↕️Shout out the guys for bringing the songs to life

#RicScalesIsNotOnTourBut
I am reposting this cause I feel like it flew under the radar. But

Feb 1st 2026 I dropped a project with some of my closest friends @skinnyveny @ddotfranklin @chuck.m00n and @devvlov

What we put together is a project called Melanati & the Negro Solstice.

It’s some of my favorite work.
Filled with deep social commentary, Humor, Bars, Amazing original production and some more shit.

The artwork was made by the talented @trev2good who also did work on the @18scales Fade Nasty Vol 3 project.
It perfectly depicts the vibe we were going for.
The concept is based on a viral internet phenomenon and satirical holiday celebrated on Black social media during the winter solstice. The joke stated that December 21, 2020, was to coincide with the rare “Great Conjunction” of Jupiter and Saturn, the day playfully claims that Black people finally receive their long-awaited superpowers.

The concept of this project is that we’ve had super powers the whole time and were unaware. The belief is that our resilience, culture, contributions, and our communities are our strengths.

Check the project out
