I am so blown away by the reception of this show! Thank you so much to everyone who came to opening night and shared such lovely reviews. I’m honored to be on stage in this production and am so happy people have been enjoying it! Also a huge thanks to @mcewanlin for being such an amazing rock of a co-star, @riskybones for bringing us from broad brushstrokes to tiny details, our amazing crew for making things run smoothly, and Azi Pirnia for being such an amazingly supportive partner every step of the way.

Today I rallied my family and requested a sunrise hike. I was planning on setting some intentions for the coming year, and we all ended up having a meditative moment with nature. The solstice is over, this big rock we’re riding is headed back towards the sun, and I’m officially one year older. There were moments of silliness and tenderness from this morning that I might share later, but for now, here are my intentions:
Love yourself
Keep bringing beauty and creativity into the world
Take care of yourself. When you thrive, others around you thrive.

This is a photo dump of what work looks like for me nowadays. I’ve been working with Kupu and Skyline Conservation Initiative to help restore native habitat and protect endangered species. These massive shifts in the world finally gave me the jump start to change my life. Shame has been a constant side kick for years, and I’m finally starting to let it all go. Instead of putting myself down all the time I’ve been focused on forgiveness, self love, and realizing I have everything I need within myself.

Some days I still struggle and compare myself to others. I think about how I’m not living up to my potential. I beat myself up for not being insanely productive all the time. I think that my opportunity to be seen or to make a difference has passed.

Deciding to get clear mentally has caused some major shifts. I’ve left the restaurant industry, I’ve shed almost all of my old routines and habits, I’ve left almost all of my friends and family to be thousands of miles away in one of the most remote places on the planet. Through it all I’ve realized that it’s better to embrace the dark parts of yourself than to cope with them. Potential is just a part of you, not something you have to live up to. We are not seeking the path, we are the path.

I’m excited for the work that is to come. I feel lucky to be where I am with the gifts and the love I’ve received or cultivated along the way. There are many on this planet who don’t even get a chance to break free and introspect. Let’s take care of ourselves, each other, and this earth we’ve been given. by @dexterross

I have found that journeying into the wilderness is never an escape from reality for me. Rather, it washes the routines away and thrusts me into the true nature of the world. My body resets with the rhythm of the sun, my mind swells in awe looking towards the stars, my breath is deepened by the crisp sweetness of pine scented wind. We’ve only got one planet, let’s take care of it! by @dexterross
