You see us doing this in Prospect Park wyd?

My dream for this music video was to have it be really fun to make, and it was beyond that. I’m so grateful to have had this group just jump right in and go so all out on this insane concept. It was more fun than I could’ve ever hoped and that’s thanks to this lowkey gigantic group of people! Thank you x100000 to all the friends and acquaintances who dedicated their Saturday afternoon to running around with me in the park. Just like the theme of the video itself, it’s the friends you make along the way and I had SOO much fun with my friends :)

THANK YOU to these people!!!!!

@tcmaradiaga for being so in tune with the vision and bringing it out more than I ever could. Your brain is so cool and I’m honored to have it play a part in any of my music.

@selenealmeron an insanely talented DP with an amazing eye and exactly the right amount of adaptable for a project like this. HIRE HER!

@monisha.film who worked remotely to give us such wonderful insight and also make our whole operation seem really professional! It was I promise!

@blanchebacareza for dedicating an entire day to helping a bunch of strangers, being an expert carrot handler, and for bringing wonderful vibes, the carrots were so taken care of and so were we!

@heysirota for literally always being by my side and everywhere I can’t. I would crumple into a tiny little ball of dust without you.

This cast of like a bajillion really cool people!!

When I was 12, I moved from rural Vermont to the suburbs of Northern Virginia, and as you can imagine, that was a veryyyy difficult transition. I went from making whistles out of grass blades and wearing Merrells every day to being surrounded by strip malls and sitting in my room scouring the internet for pop culture moments I missed. This was the start of a feeling of isolation and loneliness I had never previously experienced. There was a disconnect between me and most of the kids who grew up in that suburb, it felt like everyone knew something I didn’t. I was desperate to feel understood, and was lucky enough to find friends who also wanted that in their own ways. Using parking garages, friends’ basements, and a singular picnic table in front of 7 Eleven, we made suburbia work. Years later, I can look back on those moments and think, how random that these people, dear friends and not so dear friends alike (haha tea), who were grouped together solely due to having the same zip code, could have such a profound impact on my life. My new song, Rabbit Holes, is about the strangeness of this, and how you can be totally changed for the rest of your life by these moments and interactions that you didn’t pick for yourself, but are a part of you now for better or for worse.

This is such a special song to me and I’ve been jumping out of my seat waiting for you all to hear it, and guess what? It’s already released! The only place you can get it right now is on my website (yodermusic.com) for $1, but it comes out on streaming May 22nd. You can hear it in full on my website before purchasing it and if you connect to it, consider owning it forever! I’m so excited for you all to finally hear Rabbit Holes, enjoy and seeya on the 22nd!! by @deyoderant
