6 days away from getting married to the best human I’ve ever met, I sit here the day before Mother’s Day astonished that I haven’t talked to my mom in almost a year. Astonished that she hasn’t forced me to send every possible picture of me in my tux I’ll wear in a few days. Astonished that the world just continues to move forward. The hardest part about grief isn’t the initial loss, I think. It’s the adjusting to the new normal.

This has been truly the weirdest and most joyous and difficult 10 months of my life, and honestly, I’m really thankful to God for that. That I get to experience the nuance of all of these confusing emotions, I think says a lot about God’s character. It seems impossible to have any amount of joy in this amount of darkness, but that’s the funny thing - God has always made the impossible possible.

I’m really thankful for that, and if you’re someone who also has a lot of confusing emotions on days like tomorrow, I hope you know that God is with you.

Curious what this whole Quad Co thing is about? 🤔

Hear from one of our founders, Desi, as he shares the heart and vision behind it all.

Today, heaven gained the brightest soul I ever got to know in my life. My mother was someone who lived a life that touched so many around her. Her constant smile, her incredible dancing skills, social media expertise (iykyk), impeccable music taste, and truly so much more than I can type, are what made her who she was. She was the first person who ever loved me, and the one who taught me what it meant to lead a life guided by true love. I thank God for leaving us with the greatest example of Christian perfection.

We love you Sunshine. You’ve done the work. Now rejoice with the incredible reunion I know is happening as we speak in heaven.
