I live with a quiet, overpowering guilt around the idea of experiencing joy and showing it.

If I can show up enough to make this one moment look effortless… then maybe I’m not that sick. Maybe it’s all in my head.

And then..loudly, and without room for debate my doctors remind me: I’m not healed yet. There are still answers and treatments in progress. And I have to stay the course.

Some days I grieve the life I once had. Other days I feel powerful, soft, magnetic.

So I say this out loud, for myself (and for you too):
All of these realities can be true.

And I don’t need permission to use whatever tools help me hold onto hope in the meantime.

Chronic illness doesn’t have one face. Disability doesn’t look the same day to day. A good, able moment doesn’t erase the hard ones.

I allow joy and grief, pain and hope to co-exist.

On #worldmentalhealthday I can’t help but reflect on what brought me to these squares back in 2016 and how ten years later I’ve had the gift of learning and growing with all of you. This is your friendly reminder to do what fuels your soul. Take the chance. The trip. Make the memory. Call the friend. Start over. Keep going. Whatever you need to add a little whimsy and hope to your day. There’s never been a better time to say yes to all that you deserve. Life is too short to live in the “what if”.

This film, forever. Don’t know that I will ever be moved by something as strongly as this. Seeing it again in a cinema was exactly the gut punch it needed to remind me all the reasons I absolutely adore (and lament) this film

Did I cry? Absolutely. Did the twinkly lights outside made me cry even more?? You bet.

Another 365, and if this year has been a loud reminder of anything it’s that nothing is guaranteed, no one day can be predicted, and sometimes you have to learn to live in parallel to all you’ve ever reached for, until you can hold it again. Knowing there’s no way of knowing if you ever will.

I’ve learned that life is most beautiful when you intentionally notice. A song, a sunset, the way light dances through the window. I’ve learned the biggest flowers get their sunshine and strength from belly laughs and flooding tears. I’ve learned that my disability is not my enemy, maybe in some way it’s been my superpower all along.

There’s something about your late 30s that kicks your yearning into overdrive. Maybe it’s just hopeless optimism. Maybe it’s just remembering things all too well. 🦋

In any case, here are little life lessons I hope bring you everything beautiful that you deserve as the seasons change yet again soon. by @dezigncreative

Seeing @lovertaylortribute deliver the impossible, time and time again, is nothing short of incredible. The discipline it takes to honour every little detail that made that “Era” in all of our lives feel so magical, giving us a little trip back in time while still bringing her own heart and unique energy to the larger-than-life task of paying tribute to one of the most recognizable artists in the world, is something truly special.

Forever proud of this girl, but especially proud of @thecharityeden this weekend.

Sold-out shows. A world tour. Releasing her own album. The kindness she shows every single fan. The incredible band and dancers she’s built around her. It’s all such a beautiful testament to the years of work, discipline and dedication she’s poured into becoming the artist she is.

There’s something really wonderful about watching someone work so hard for something, year after year, and then getting to watch the world embrace them right back.

So incredibly deserved. 🤍

Making the days count so August doesn’t slip away.

A playlist on repeat, more pages filling my journal than I think I’ve done in a while , and lots of time by the water. Some experiences I’d quietly counted out, unexpected nostalgia, and as always, living for the hope of it all.

I’m choosing to keep my face turned toward the sun and believe that, just like a sunflower, we find our brightest days when we stand tall, keep reaching for the light, and make room for joy and whimsy even in the midst of confusion and grief.
