Firstly I need to thank @imaniimani for giving me a chance to sit at the table as I was one of the lucky people choosen for the grant. I was truly inspired by everyone this weekend to all the people I connected to hey new friends 👋🏼

The core of @culturecon to celebrate and create community and I was able to accomplish both.

I didn’t take a lot of pics because I wanted to take it all in enjoy the moment I was in. I could only dream to be in space like this and extremely grateful for this experience. It’s hard to dream when there’s no visibility and this weekend I got to see anything is possible 💖✨ by @dezthewildchild

32✨ Where do I even begin ?

This year has gone by extremely fast but I’ve learned so much about myself. I’ve learned how deeply I stand in my beliefs and how important it is to stand in my truth.
Oftentimes silence feels safe but speaking up about what means the most to you is resilience.

From being published to getting laid off to making the Dean’s List. This year showed me the ups and downs. The happy moments and the moments that shook the ground a little.But through it all I’ve learned the importance of capturing the feeling.

As I step into 32 I’m stepping into myself even more. I’m stepping into my voice. I’m stepping out of imposter syndrome. I’m stepping away from what no longer serves me and making space for what does. taken in Kyma Flatiron by @dezthewildchild

Last weekend we hosted the first of many hair braiding workshops at @littlecaribbeannyc on @governorsisland ✨✨

Her Story is more than just learning — it’s learning each other’s stories and what our hair tells. I had a beautiful time watching people become empowered, finally laying their first braid and being able to tell their story through their hair and expression.

Thank you to @lilreedivision for being a wonderful instructor and demonstrating on our beautiful model @luvs_gabriella 🤎

Most of all, thank you to everyone who showed up, it means the world 🥹💖
