Translated as "blood of stone," Petrichor is a potent olfactory sensation. This distinctive earthy scent released when rain hits dry soil and stone accompanied Sciarrino throughout her carving practice, lingering in her studio and renewed with each layer of chiseling and sanding⁠

"The exhibition opens with a photograph of a pregnant belly emerging from a pool of water. Formally abstracted, it recalls other forms, such as a dolphin’s head, or perhaps even a ringed planet. Sciarrino harkens back to our watery beginnings; a collective place and time of which we lack tangible memories."⁠

Berlin friends! On the occasion of Berlin Art Week: ChertLüdde presents "Search for Life," a solo exhibition by Stephanie Comilang. The exhibition centers on "Search for Life II," a two-channel video installation projected onto a beaded curtain that transforms the gallery into an immersive underwater environment, where shifting light and shadow are cast over a variety of sculptures.⁠

This fall-winter, discover 𝘈𝘕𝘛𝘏𝘌𝘔𝘚, Stephanie Comilang’s (@stephaniecomilang) most comprehensive exhibition to date and the first presentation of her work in Québec.

Through video installations, virtual reality, textiles, and sculptures, the artist explores migration, technology, and the invisible networks that shape our lives. Blending documentary and fiction, her works weave together stories of people, places, and objects to imagine new ways of understanding home, belonging, and diasporic experience.
