It’s my favorite city. And yes, my fiancé proposed there last November. He understood the assignment.

If I’m not working, I’m probably watching stand-up, at a show, or looking for tickets.
3️⃣ Podcasts are my background noise.

The only drink I order. Ever. If there’s a good one on the menu, I will find it.
5️⃣ Camping is my reset.
I’ve done it my whole life, and it’s still my favorite way to unplug and recharge.

People don’t follow you just for your content, they follow you for YOU.

Your personality. Your perspective. Your story.

So tell it.

Bring your audience into your world. Show them how it started, what it felt like, and why it matters. Because the right story builds connection, but the right hook gets them to stay.

Here are 3 storytelling hooks I love right now (and why they work):

1. The tension hook
“This almost didn’t exist…”
Instant curiosity. It makes people stop and think, wait… what happened?
Now your job is to deliver the answer.

2. The relatable hook
“This started with a lot of second guessing and zero clarity.”
This is where connection happens. Most people are in this phase right now. When they see themselves in your story, they stay.

3. The frustration hook (my favorite)
“This started out of frustration, not confidence.”
This one hits. Because so many businesses aren’t born from confidence… they’re born from needing something that didn’t exist.
(hi, me creating my own job in social media)

But remember, the hook is just step one.

You got their attention, now you have to keep it.
Tell the story. Be real. Make them feel something.

That’s what turns viewers into followers, and followers into clients ✨

In honor of my birthday today 🥂 I had to steal this idea from @sociallyactivemt and share 34 lessons I’ve learned in my 34 years around the sun.

Some are cliché.
Some are hard truths.
Some I learned the easy way, most I learned the hard way 🙂

As a freshly 34-year-old, I can honestly say I wish 20-something Daisy would’ve listened to a few of these sooner. Life is hard (and spoiler alert: it kind of always will be). But the sooner you learn what actually matters (and what absolutely doesn’t), the easier it is to laugh a little more and stress a little less.

Take these lessons or leave them (or save them for later), they’ll live here forever. But If you made it through all 34, drop one thing you’ve learned in life that I missed, or tell me which one we both got right. 👇
