Exciting day at the @hogeschool_gent bedrijvenmarkt Supply Chain!

On Thursday, we had the amazing opportunity to connect with bachelor students exploring future careers in supply chain. Together with other companies, we showcased the possibilities within our industry and gave insights into what DFDS has to offer.

It was a pleasure meeting so many enthusiastic students and sharing our passion for logistics and innovation.

🎅🎄 HO HO HO! 🎄🎅

The holiday season is in full swing at DFDS! Today, we enjoyed a festive Christmas breakfast 🥐 and a delicious Christmas lunch with hotdogs. 🌭
But that wasn’t all: Santa Claus and his cheerful elf stopped by to spread some extra holiday magic.

Every colleague attending was surprised with a fun DFDS-themed pair of socks and a multifunctional buff—perfect for staying cozy this winter. 🎁✨

It was wonderful to come together, share good food, and celebrate the team spirit during this special time of the year.

We’re so grateful for our amazing colleagues who make a difference every single day. Here’s to a fantastic 2024! 🚢❄️

What a fantastic first edition of the North Sea Port Talent Experience Day at ICC Gent! 🎉 Together with more than 60 other port companies, we at DFDS had the opportunity to inspire over 1,500 job seekers and young people with the endless possibilities our sector has to offer.

We’re happy to introduce the newest member of our electric fleet in Ghent: an electric RoRo-tractor 🔌

“We’re testing multiple types of electric equipment in the Ghent terminal to move towards a more sustainable operation,” says Raf De Wit ☘

With the new technology also comes new operational challenges 💡
As opposed to non-electric equipment that can stand idle, when it’s not in use, the electric equipment needs to be charged 🔋

It requires planning and organising - for example, having an overview of when a machine is needed and available charging points.

“It’s a great learning experience for us and we’re very pleased with the work so far. We are looking forward to electrifying our terminal even more in the coming years,” says Raf de Wit.
