Walking back to my temporary abode from the theater after FINALLY seeing Spider Man, look what I saw in the pond in front of a Chinese seafood restaurant across the street from where I’m staying! A baby alligator! 🐊 I was amazed to see how well the alligator and turtles get along with each other! 🐊🐢

The opulent ThéaĢ‚tre de Saint-Pierre, located on rue Victor Hugo, was inspired by the famous Grand ThéaĢ‚tre de Bordeaux. Swipe to view three images of the Theatre pre-eruption of Mont Pelée, the Theatre as it appeared immediately following the eruption, and the final photo of yours truly in front of the Theatre ruins as they appear today.

My aim with this AI video was to replicate a scene that appears on page 7 in episode 1 of ā€˜Pelée’, eight days before the cataclysmic eruption.

Excerpt from "The Calla Lilies" by David Earle

Only one block away from where there once stood two towers, so high, and so mighty.

With every look at these two giants their proportion would never fail to inspire awe in man's achievement.

Side-by-side they stood as though two noble and proud citadels keeping watch over their island.

At night they were gleaming twins, beacons to those from afar.

On overcast days when their tops would disappear into the heavens they appeared as pillars holding up the clouds over the diverse yet equally restless city dwellers below.

I saw them go up, and I watched them come down.

Now, only the vacant brown earth is all that remains as a testimony to the tragedy that befell them and the 2,823 soles who live on in the hearts and memories of their families, friends, and even strangers alike. by @dfearle

How much more can a person take? Yesterday, my beloved little Nacho died at 6:21 PM, on his pillow, on my bed where I was comforting him as he crossed over that Rainbow Bridge. His illness coming on quite suddenly, X-rays on Friday showed that he had fluid in his lungs. Nacho was a gentle, loving, affectionate, good boy. A big boy, at one time weighing in at 16 lbs. In his 14 years and 3 months of life he experienced much… camping, road trips from sea to shining sea, and his outings in the stroller with his brothers Toby and Pogo. It was with those other two that we all made that long cross-country trip from Nevada to South Carolina. Scrolling through these photos you will see many of Nacho with Toby. They were so close. Best buddies. With the passing of Nacho, it seems like the end of an era, an era that began when I moved to Carson City in 2005. Along with my parents, their cats and mine, it was a happy time in our lives of being yours, mine, and ours. So happy! Now, I’ve lost my parents, lost my car, lost my home, and only three months and twenty days ago I lost Toby. Now Nacho is gone. They’re all gone. I’m not at that breaking point, I’m already broken. Little Nacho, now you are in heaven with Toby, Pogo, all your other furry brothers and sister, and especially, Mom and Dad who were the ones who adopted you at that animal shelter in South Lake Tahoe. RIP ā€˜till that day comes when we are all together again. šŸŒˆšŸ¾šŸ’”
