We thought we would do a little recap introduction of ourselves as lots has changed lately and we’ve also happily welcome lots of new lovely people!

So, hi I’m Maeva, dog-mum, content creator, photographer and I’m the main human behind this account. My life is pretty crazy at the moment after I suddenly uprooted my life leaving my dream legal job in a large city to moving back to the island I grew up on to live on a farm… unemployed too I might add. I have big dreams which no longer fit with the life I was living and hence I’ve made the wild and scary decision to just leap into the life I do dream of…

And then there’s Dottie, I would be lying if I said my sudden change in life dreams didn’t all correlate with her arrival into our family. Dottie is a 1y old golden retriever which we added to our family after the death of our beloved lab. Before Dottie I dreamt of recognition, corporate ladders and whilst all these dreams are valid and not to be dismissed… they’re just not mine anymore.

I couldn’t do a post about us without mentioning dog-dad who is our fiercest supporter and shares the same dreams as me (and Dottie). So if you guys are ready to see some more crazy life changes as we manoeuvre our new life then follow along ✨

ad | Can you believe it? Just off the British coast line in autumn, this is the Isle of Man 🇮🇲

Of course, not everyday is glorious sunshine on our moody little island however, with our rich heritage, folklore and culture autumn’s moody weather somehow fits in perfectly with our beautiful views ✨🌊

It’s the rich contrast in our autumnal weather that allows each day to stand on its own in drastic comparison to the last. One of my favourite activities in autumn is to go for a wild swim in the sea and there’s no better place for it than beautiful Fenella beach on a quiet autumnal day! 🐚🌊✨

Wild swimming disclaimer: never swim alone, check the tides and weather first. Research cold water shock before attempting.

Another favourite of mine in the autumn is taking the dogs out on Ballaugh beach where you can walk for miles on this beautiful fine golden sand without meeting anyone.

The ultimate peaceful retreat with amazing views! 🌊

Autumn brings us some of the most beautiful and vibrant sunsets, we love watching the golden rays reflect on the sea. At the moment the sunsets at the perfect time to enjoy whilst having a picnic al fresco on the beach! 🌅

One thing stays constant on our beautiful island; the views. Autumn doesn’t change that just enhances it 🍂

After a few months of some summer restrictions on some beaches, autumn is the perfect time to rediscover some of your favourite beaches during the daytime with your dog! 🐾

ad | We’ve been telling you guys all about our perfect little island but we thought you all should know about the perfect house to visit the Isle of Man this autumn 🍂✨

2 lounges, 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and pet-friendly, our favourite features were the log burner, deep bath, and lastly a master bedroom with a hidden door in a full-height bookshelf 📖 ✨

My jaw dropped when I saw the hidden bookshelf door, would you love one of these in your home?!

It’s October and I’m bringing this trend back on the table 🍂✨

We loved this trend last year notable mentions to @violetthefairydogmother and @tessathehairyborder who were massive inspirations! Although we tried to do this last year, as Dottie was only 5 months old it was a massive flop (especially as she was leaf obsessed 🍁) by @dfor.dottie

If you’re wondering what Dottie is looking at, that would be a pinecone… Dottie’s been obsessed with pinecone since she was a puppy to the point that when we were lead training her last year we held a pinecone in our hand 😬😂

They say a picture is worth a thousand words, well have 12. This summer, as the final stop along our Scotland roadtrip we had to honour of staying at @offgrid.travel’s The HideAway in Fife. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Our time there was in some ways otherworldly, it was tranquil and still surrounded by nature. Time there seemed to pass differently, slower, more grounded and mindful. After a beautiful and long roadtrip it was the perfect haven for tired minds.

This stay will always forever be one I remember as somewhere I felt safe and calming in the middle of what was a whirlwind of emotions with so much was going on (especially as our big move to the island was due that same week). So, if you’re ever in Fife looking for a safe heaven or needing a getaway to a place you can find peace, comfort and beautiful nature and views, look no further. ✨

As usual this stay was extremely dog-friendly with dog bowls, towels, poo bags, long line and treats provided 🤍

The autumn vibes have finally arrived and let’s just say I’m in leaf heaven! 🍂 The autumn trees are usual short lasting here on our beautiful island usually due to the frequent wind and storms that blow them off so I am fully basking in it whilst I can!
