💫 Building Confidence, One Space at a Time 💫

Welcome to our Building Confidence, One Space at a Time campaign! Over the coming weeks, we'll be sharing the improvements we're making throughout our boutique and how each one helps create a more welcoming, organized, and empowering experience for every participant.

Our first project focuses on something participants may never see, but our volunteers and team members use every day.

Better-organized clothing displays will make it easier to sort, restock, and prepare for every appointment, allowing our team to spend less time searching for clothing and more time supporting participants with confidence and care. 💚

Last evening, we witnessed exactly what Dress For Success Western Massachusetts exists to do — empower women to achieve economic independence, not just through professional attire, but through a network of support, tools, and the kind of belief that changes the trajectory of a life.

And it takes a village of invaluable partners to make that possible.

The leadership in that room didn’t judge. They didn’t watch from the sidelines. They stepped forward — arms open, hearts ready — offering the mission exactly as it was meant to be given: with dignity, devotion, and full presence.

Our co-emcees, Mydalis Vera, CEO of Guerrera Writing and Chris Martin, Realtor & Entrepreneur, weren’t just voices at a podium. They were voices of the work — a couple who have poured their own time, heart, and joy into this movement. You felt it in every word.

And our own Shannon Rudder? She did not disappoint as keynote. She hit every note, in fact.

She spoke of her own journey — the doubts, the detours — until she heard words from a woman who stopped her in her tracks:
“You are not waiting for the moment. You ARE the moment.”

That is the Dress For Success promise made audible. You don’t have to become someone else to lead. You don’t have to shrink or shift to fit. You already carry it. Shannon let that truth land — not as encouragement, but as possibility.

That is what thriving looks like. That is what this mission looks like in real time.

Congratulations Jess Roncarati-Howe, Executive Director and your team for delivering not just last night but daily!

Today is World Mental Health Day

Our mental health deserves care, compassion, and space to breathe, including at work. Whether you’re having a difficult day or simply need a moment to reset, small acts of care can make a meaningful difference.

Here are a few ways to check in with yourself and those around you:

💬 Connect with others
Check in with a colleague, have a meaningful conversation, or reach out when you need support.

🤝 Ask for support
Recognize when you need help and connect with someone you trust, whether that’s a colleague, manager, or mental health professional.

🌱 Practice gratitude
Take a moment to recognize something positive about your work, your progress, or the people around you.

🧘 Take mindful breaks
Step away for a few minutes to breathe, stretch, or simply reset. You don’t have to earn a moment of rest.

Today’s mental health affirmation:
“I give myself permission to pause, breathe, and prioritize my well-being.”

October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM) — a time to celebrate the skills, talents, and contributions of people with disabilities and to remind employers that inclusion doesn’t end when someone gets hired.

It’s about creating workplaces where people can learn, grow, lead, and build meaningful careers.

Here are 3 ways employers can help retain employees with disabilities and support their career growth:
