Louisiana State University has been my dream college since I was in high school, and on May 16th at 8am, I will be walking across the stage to receive my degree. This journey has taught me so much about myself and those around me. I have enjoyed every single moment of being at LSU. I’m grateful for the friendships and family I’ve made both here as-well as through another major chapter of my college career when I was deployed. Being deployed overseas to Kuwait during my sophomore year came with many complications, forcing me not only to leave school for a year but also to change my major and overload on coursework upon my return. Many people would have given up, and I would be lying if I said there was no feeling of discontent. However, I knew what I wanted, and I’m a very determined person, so it wasn’t a question of if I was going to graduate from my dream college but when. This Degree means so much more to me than validating my educational status. This degree serves as a reminder that no matter what life throws at you, never give up, never let a situation determine what your outcome will be. Push yourself, trust yourself, trust in God’s timing, and everything will happen when it is your time! “Delayed, not denied” is what many say. I don’t believe anything is delayed with God. Everything happens when it is very much supposed to, not a minute before or after. And I owe him everything; there’s been so much that’s happened for me that only his work can do,and it’s so eye-opening, truly. So with all this being said, Louisiana State University!
