WHY OGBOMOSHO NEEDS A NIGERIAN ARMY BARRACKS NOW
The recent attacks on Yawota and Esiele communities have exposed a serious security gap in the Ogbomosho zone. Innocent lives were lost, families were thrown into fear, and communities were left asking a difficult question: could a stronger security presence have made a difference?
Ogbomosho is one of the largest and most strategic cities in Oyo State. It serves as a major link between Northern and Southern Nigeria and is surrounded by numerous rural communities that require stronger security protection. Yet, despite its importance, the city lacks a major military formation capable of providing rapid response during emergencies.

A Nigerian Army Barracks in Ogbomosho would strengthen security across the entire region, improve response time, support existing security agencies, and serve as a strong deterrent to criminal elements. It would also help protect schools, farmers, travelers, and businesses while boosting economic growth and investor confidence.

The concentration of military formations in Ibadan alone is no longer enough for a state as large and important as Oyo. Ogbomosho has the population, strategic location, and growing security needs to justify the establishment of a military barracks. We the people of Ogbomosho are not asking for special treatment. We are asking for adequate protection.

After Yawota and Esiele, one thing is clear: Ogbomosho can no longer afford to wait.
