Transformation Conference V5 recap — a few things I’ve learned doing these. **A FEW THINGS ABOUT RECAPS** (with love) 1. Shoot the stuff around the main thing, not just the main thing. The crowd, the details, the in-between moments — that’s what makes it feel like you were there. 2. Get your soundbites early. The lines from stage are the spine of the edit; everything else hangs off them. 3. Pick your music before you cut anything. It decides your pace more than you do. 4. Stay till the very end. The moments people talk about for years almost never happen on schedule. 5. Watch the room, not just your viewfinder. You can feel when the energy shifts — that’s your cue to move, reframe, find the moment. And God’s honest truth: these aren’t one-man, one Daniel jobs. Half this edit exists because the production team and my team around me got me clean audio and the right point of contact. Credit the people around you and don’t do it alone. Here’s the sentimental part: a recap isn’t content, it’s memory. Someone’s going to watch this years from now and be right back in that room, feeling what they felt. That’s the job. You don’t get a second take on a moment — so you show up early, you stay late, and you treat every frame like it matters. Because to someone, it does. **THE MUSICIAN PART** I was a full-time musician and worship leader for a lot of years, so I think about recaps the way I think about songs. Build, release, breathe, resolve. Once you feel the structure musically, the timeline kind of cuts itself. There really is a science to it. That’s just my formula. Conference Recap for @transformationconference + @wearetransformation + @iammiketodd This was a beast of a project, filled with tons of fun moments, memories, and shots that made me freak out while shooting. Going into this space I came in with a little intimidation on my mind, not sure if I was capable of pulling it off, and the Lord met me right where I was. Walked away feeling equipped, empowered, and ready for whatever big project comes next. Been working hard the past month on our new August/September curriculum for our eKidz Elementary Kids! From arcades, studio teachings, new segments, countdowns, cinematic timers, designing animation, cool transitions, music videos with hanging tube lights and cameras on the ceiling, I’m really proud of everyone involved making these crazy ideas we have come to life. Through the next two months our kids will discover a new fruit of the spirit every week - following characters in an arcade as they resolve the conflict/the opposite of that fruit as well. Camp eKidz is here for the Summer! Our goal was to make a 8 week experience of a camp and characters that Elementary aged kids would find engaging, fun, goofy, and full of wonder as they discover how they can trust God in the midst of everyday life and the feelings that come. We accomplished just that. We maximized every room and available acre of a beautiful cabin local to us and with an amazing crew and team, we pulled it off.
