Started this Singapore trip right with a Sunday family lunch at Murugan's in Little India. In the evening I was lucky to catch the last Singapore show of Jesus Christ Superstar. What a beautifully crafted show with amazing music and choreography. The lyrics were a little hard to follow sometimes but that was made up by the powerhouse performances by all the actors, particularly those playing Jesus and Mary Magdalene. We drove down to LA from Santa Barbara- our day trip within the trip within the Chicago trip.
The Warner Brothers Studio tour is a must do activity. We could revisit moments from iconic shows like Friends, Big Bang theory, Gilmore Girls and the Harry Potter series.
The drive up to the Griffith Observatory was long but totally worth it to see all of LA spread out below us and to get a good look at the iconic Hollywood sign. taken in Los Angeles, California by @dhansumi

Santa Barbara was our trip within the Chicago trip. The resort town seems straight out of an 80's Hollywood movie. Bright blue Pacific, surrounding mountains, luxurious white buidings and a railway crossing to complete the look.
The company we had on this trip was great and that's really the secret to a good holiday. We walked among the vines, tasted California wine and ate some great food including amazing vegan Mexican food. A quick round up of experiences from the Chicago trip this summer.
We always enjoy watching shows. This time we saw Spamalot, a hilarious parody based on King Arthur's Camelot. Then we walked across to the beautiful Palmer house hotel where brownies were invented.
The gorillas at the Chicago zoo were extremely busy and couldn't be bothered to come up and say hello.
We managed to cross off some items on the Chicago bucket list such as doing the heritage boat tour and sampling the iconic Chicago deep dish pizza.
The museum of Science and Industry is a repeat visit of course and this time I got to see Spriha's office and sit in Spriha's chair.
There's always lots of good food. We had amazing pizza at a riverside pizzeria and watched a boat pull up to take away a huge order.
Its a novel experience to sit in pavement enclosures and enjoy gourmet food while the cars whizz by. And Jen's Ice-cream across the road from home is a must of course.
Spending time with family is key and even a couple of hours spent playing arcade games together became a memorable afternoon.

The house is bright and sparkling clean, the front door welcomes with yellow marigold garlands, Maa Laxmi's footsteps in white rangoli enter through the doorway into the home. As evening falls, the diyas are lit. When family is home for Diwali, the light of these diyas carries a special warmth that spreads through the home and fills it with the joy of Deepawali.

And it's a wrap on Pujo 2025. We saw some amazing pandals and marveled as always at the incredible artistry. The weather played Dhoop Baarish but mostly cooperated.
The pujo days are great for meeting friends and family and we enjoyed our pujor adda. Finally met this lovely human being at the AE block pujo pandal. A young girl, she saw me struggling to reach my shoes in the muddy ground. Without a thought, she picked them up and put them before my feet, saying it's OK, I'm your daughter's age. What a beautiful human, hope she is blessed with all she deserves. #pujoart#awesomedurgapuja#incrediblehuman by @dhansumi

We took early puja vacations in September and the elements approved. Seeing a rainbow is never not exciting and the clear Phuket sky was the perfect canvas for the VIBGYOR hues.

I had been reading about this exhibition in Dalhousie at the Old Currency Building so I finally went to see it and I'm so glad I did. The building itself is beautiful with an open courtyard looking up to the sky. It was almost demolished but was luckily saved and restored.
The exhibition itself was well curated with a number of works by Manu Parekh, a whole section of Oleographs by Raja Ravi Verma as well as some very interesting installations.
I'm so glad I got to see an exhibition of this calibre which I thoroughly enjoyed. I'm also hoping this is just the beginning of a trend. #kolkataartscene taken in Dalhousie, Kolkata City by @dhansumi

Sculpting the senses, the ongoing exhibition at ArtScience Museum showcases the work of designer Iris van Herpen. I walked in knowing nothing about the designer but left in awe of her work. The designs are truly works of art in concept as well as execution and it's truly mesmerizing to see how such seemingly impossible designs find form and fluidity and become graceful garments. #artinfashion taken in ArtScience Museum @ Marina Bay Sands by @dhansumi
