It’s a scream, baby!

I am so grateful to be a very small part of one of my favorite horror franchises (for the second Scream movie in a row). Couldn’t be much happier with the way this one turned out. From prep all the way through panic-calling the horror encyclopedia @spencerink the night before the post deadline to ask “have we ever heard Ghostface talk to someone NOT through the phone?!?!”, thank you to everyone involved for caring about how this would sound for the millions that have already tuned in. Also it’s worth mentioning that processing “The Voice” performed by @rljtoday has been on my sound-bucket-list since I was a wee sound lad.

“Movies don't create psychos. Movies make psychos more creative!” Thank you to everyone who is still out there believing in music videos and allowing us to make cool art with cool people.

Clown fact: I moved to LA just over two years ago with a huge focus on moving away from major motion picture. Ridiculous, I know. I wanted to use (what I consider) my unique talents as a production sound mixer in different areas of the entertainment industry. I needed to get back into the music industry or live events or comedy. Movies were really weighing on me and in 2022 I was really looking for any way out of major motion before I completely lost my passion for capturing performances through sound. Almost immediately after moving here I met the boiz in @iceninekills through @tiffanywaxler on one of their earlier videos with @jensennoen and saw an Avenue out of “Hollywood” and back into music. Two and a half years later, I was invited to be the production mixer on this mini-movie. I’ve done a whole lot of cool projects since moving here and this is definitely among the top ones for me. A perfect pairing of cinema and music. I guess you can say I did the thing I set out to do. That’s pretty sick. After a missed opportunity to work on the first Terrifier movie back on the east coast, I am now finally involved 6-8 years later. Starring @davidhowardthornton @instacatherinec @josemangin your favorite security guards from @rainbowbarandgrill and of course @spencerink @joeoqt @rickyarmellino @milesdimitribaker @dansugarman @mikechardcore and produced by the @blesscode folks @phoenixvaughn @rndevereaux @ashhainzer Ironically my first theatrical release since living in California is not even a feature film, and I’m very okay with that. by @dhenningsound

Been doing some final tracking over the last few days. New music BY ME hitting the shelves soon. I’ve started an accountability situation recently by telling some people that I’ll have songs done by the end of this month. But now it’s public so I definitely have to do it. Anyway! I have never released music as a solo artist and I am really excited to start showing all of you what I’ve been working on for the past few months. Stay tuned and hmu if you want to be a part of the beta testing! taken in Los Angeles, California by @dhenningsound
